This little gizmo is great for butter curls and other artistic ways of presenting butter that is rock hard straight from the 'fridge.If you live in a very warm climate like me, butter is always kept in the 'fridge and is well nigh unusable for a while unless you haveone of these garnishing tools. Haven't used it on anything else but I would guess it works well on hard cheese too.

A little disappointed in the finish craftsmanship, but is sturdy and effective. The description failed to mention a bottle opener and a hole for a laniard.

I was looking for a tool to make butterballs for sentimental reasons. This tool does a good job for that and is easy to use. It works best on butter that has been out for about 10 minutes. The butter will stick to the tool if too warm.

I am not sure all the extra features are necessary and there is a slight learning curve but I love putting the butter on a toasted English muffin and seeing it actually melt making my muffin delicious. Too soon to know if it will last.
