Easy install. Be sure to read my "IMPORTANT HEADS UP"
IMPORTANT HEADS UP. I installed this item and the fill time was about 4 minutes. That's pretty long! I called the number on the instructions and was told there is a restrictor in the very bottom threaded end and if I had high water pressure it could effect my fill time. I was told this can be removed. So with a pair of needlenose pliers I pulled this out (see photo) then re-assembled everything and it fills much faster.

works perfectly with the American Standard Champion 4 toilet
Original Water fill valve started to malfunction (wouldn't start flowing water for a few minutes for a few weeks, then wouldn't stop flowing) and flushing out the fill valve didn't help. I have never "fixed" a toilet before so I'll be the first to admit that I was a bit anxious about replacing parts, especially anything dealing with water. The instructions were very easy to follow and was able to take out the old fill valve and replace it with the new one very easily. Toilet is now fixed!

American Standard is always redesigning their components
the new design of this float assembly may have been to correct intermittent leaking of an earlier design.It works well, and solved the leaking / running problem on a Champion 4 toilet which is one of the best toilet models available.

No more running water in toilet
Looked just like the original that it replaced. Minimal tools are need to make the replacement. To help seal the threads of the water supply line hose to the new fill valve I used Teflon tape you can get at any hardware store. Took about 15 minutes to complete the job. Easy DIY project.

Works great
I have a house with 2x Vormax commodes that are about 20 years old. Instead of replacing them I did a deep clean with industrial vinegar and it now they look like new. One fill valve was giving me a headache so I replaced both. It was easy but I forgot to adjust it before installing so the water level was too low. After draining, removing, adjusting with a twist at the bottom and re-installing it works great. I also replaced the 2 center flappy valve assemblies and everything is as good as new. I just saved around a thousand dollars by rebuilding instead of replacing with a few hours of work.
