Fantastic Natural Bristles Brush That Gets Your Dishes/Pots Clean
The Kamenoko Tawashi Scrub Brush is an excellent brush to get your stubborn food-crusted pans clean. The brush looks like a toilet scrubber, but don't be fooled by appearances - it does a great job of cleaning your pans. Because it's not plastic, it won't melt when scrubbing a hot pan, it won't scratch your pans like a metal scrubber would, and it won't stink or fall apart like a sponge would. I found the brush to be comfortable to hold and after many uses of it, the brush looks exactly the same, hasn't lost any bristles, and gets all my tough to scrub pans clean. I found the brush works best if you don't push down too hard when scrubbing, similar to using a toothbrush. It's such a simple item but it works really well - I can see why there are dedicated scrub brush places in Japan now and I wish I purchased one of these sooner as they just work. At less than ~$5 per brush, these are an absolute deal given the effectiveness and durability of these brushes. You can use these for more than just scrubbing your pots and pans and the brushes are good enough that I would eventually purchase them again when these three eventually wear out.

Great for cast iron & veggies, not enameled cast iron
Update 1 year: See the picture of my brush after a year of regular use. I still use the first one, haven’t taken out the others yet. I use these to scrub veggies from the garden and to clean cast iron. (See last about regarding enameled cast iron below). I just purchased the lodge cast iron grill pan and these come in quite handy when cleaning. I was just reading recommendations for cast iron pie makers online and one author gave a link to these for best cleaning tool, prompting my second update. These are versatile and effective cleaning brushes with tons of uses and incredibly durable. Update after 6 months: I use le creuset enameled cast iron Dutch ovens weekly. First use I didn’t observe any scratches but after using for a few months I’ve noticed small circular scratches in the entire base of the inside. I don’t recommend these for enameled cast iron! There were no issues prior to using these brushes, I had a pristine unmarked surface. This is all damage from the brush itself. I don’t use any metal utensils, Only dawn dish soap and prior to this purchase a scrub daddy was my method of cleaning. I don’t know why reviews would say it’s safe unless they just confused enameled cast iron with cast iron. I use enameled cast iron daily and I do believe the damage is done slowly over time, it’s no something your going to immediately notice. My pots cost between $300 And $625 each. It works great on a bacon grill or rack, grease comes right off, no more soaking the bacon rack. I will say I have loved using this on zucchini, potatoes and pumpkins & Carrots.

Woop Woop Love it!
I freaking LOVE these. I dais goodbye to scour pads! I use them on my dishes and they scrub like nobodies business...not a thing have I not been able to get off. Not once have I needed a scour pad. The best part is these do not scratch your dishes! I use cast iron a lot and do not wash them with soap, these scrubbers get all the grime off effortlessly with only some warm water. I have one that has last me 4 years with everyday use. They are like a miracle dish scrubby in the land of this housewife where good, quality, practical, durable cleaning products are the highlight of my day making household chores so much easier. When mine gets dirty I just toss it in the dish washer...wahlaaaaa. initially purchasing I though they were kind of high $$ for a scrubby, but for real in the long run....nope. I used to use the green scour pads and they wear out too quickly, then I started getting only the name brand of the scour pads thinking they would last longer. They do not last much longer at all, maybe twice as long ans the store brand generics but at a weeks use (tops) that's not saying much; and at $4 for a pack of 3, you can see where that would add up. When I bought my first Kamenoko it was at a gourmet kitchen store and it was $14....I only bought it to try it out and thought "I'll probably regret this"....I did not! Yay me! Now that I tripped across them on Amazon for 1/3 of that price Yay me again! I didn't even order them because I need them, only because I'm scared of not finding them again.

Useful for cleaning cast iron skillets
Somewhere a few years ago I read these were good for cleaning cast iron and they are. I keep one handy in a dish near the sink. They last a long time.

Best brush ever
Cleans much better than nylon brushes, the perfect balance of stiffness and softness. I had some badly cooked-on crust in my enameled cast iron dutch oven, just gave it a little soak in some hot water and Dawn, and the tawashi did the rest. Didn't even need to use anything abrasive, this cleaned it easily with no scratches. Works great on regular cast iron too, doesn't damage the seasoning. I have one of those over-the-sink dish racks, I just hang this on one of the cup hooks and it's dry and ready for next time. Glad I bought three, I have this one for dishes, one for vegetables and one for general cleaning. Will update if anything goes wrong, but I really don't foresee any problems! Wish I'd known about these years ago.

Love these … so handy!! Highly recommend!
Where have these things been all my life!! Love them! Use one to clean veggies and another to clean my Lodge cast iron skillets … does a great job on both and doesn’t scratch or hurt either veggies or skillet. Really great use!

These little guys scrub fruit & veggies very well! My other brush flattened out so had to get another. Came upon these one day & decided to try them. Worth every penny. The only thing I would add is that a container doesn't come with them.

I was a scrub daddy fan until I just found these. They are superior by far. I am glad it came as a three pack because I use one on my dishes (great on cast iron btw), one on fruit and veg, and one for my shower glass. They dry very nicely when left just on a hard surface and their scrubbing power is intense without being damaging to surfaces.
