Received as a Gift
My SIL gave this to us as a gift from her trip to Washington, and we shared it with friends and family during get-togethers. Packaging is safe and has a decent shelf life, so having it as part of a charcuterie board is nice. We love it and now are fans of all Seabear products.

WARNING! WASTE OF MONEY!
$39 for grayish, mushy "smoked salmon" (like canned salmon) packed in a lot of liquid. I don't know what product they have a picture of in their listing, but it's not this. I wouldn't put this out for guests ever! First it's the size of a playing card. You can't slice it because it's just the texture of mush. The review on here with the pic of the grayish stuff on a plate is exactly what it looked like, only I didn't get that much. You can spend your money if you want, but don't say you weren't warned. The furthest thing from smoked salmon I've ever seen. This company should be ashamed of themselves.

What happened to SeaBear?
I remember loving SeaBear about a decade ago. The portion of salmon jumped out at me right away as just being a sliced portion from the grocery store, but I don't fuss about it as long as the flavor's there.The flavor's not there.It has only a faint whisper of the flavor it used to have, though the juices that drain out are still strong. I'm not sure if the process changed, but this wasn't anywhere near the quality that I remember scraping money together to buy.If you're new to smoked salmon or gifting this, I think it does the job. You get a decent enough flavor profile, and it'd be good for dips. If you've had smoked salmon years ago, though? This will disappoint you. I'm not sure if I just got a bad batch, but I felt deflated after the first bite. What a shame.

No smoked flavor.
The packaging is too nice for the product inside. It's basically just canned salmon but in a bag instead and really nice and pricey packaging. Not gift worthy at all once you bite into it.For those that have had 'good' smoked salmon, they will be highly disappointed in this. I'm sure it would be fine making salmon cakes or something but then you could save money and just get canned salmon at your local grocery store for that.Total waste of money.
