Some of these buttons have a little bit of a wear in period. Please try giving it a little wiggle as you hold it down for a short period of time. Might need to give it a little extra force as well. If that does the trick, then I'd ask to give it a little bit of use and it should wear into easier form. If the problem persists, please let us know.

I’m not aware that it has a battery

In general we expect the batteries to last longer than that. We have some going on a year with moderate use. Please contact us directly so we can troubleshoot this problem.

Yes if you have the magnet on the machine at the edge of the panel starting stitch.
