Star rating depends on how you use it.
I give this 5 stars overall based on the way I use it. However, my method is different from how it was intended to be used. As intended to be used, as many others have found, washing in it by filling with water and turning the handle can be difficult with poor results. Instead, I remove the spin basket, put my clothes in, fill 3/4 of the way full with water and 1.5 teaspoons of detergent and let everything soak for a while. Then I hand-agitate the clothes for a minute or so. I have a mini washboard that I then stick into the washer to help scrub out any stains or extra dirty bits, then maybe hand agitate for another minute. If you've soaked your stuff for a bit then you don't need to hand agitate for a long time. Then I drain the water and rinse twice with clean water. Then I remove the clean wet clothes and pop in the spin basket. I very, very gently wring everything then spin out my clothes, filling the basket only about a third of the way full and being careful to have things lay evenly in the basket. I spin for about a minute and a half per spin load and get quite a lot of water out. Then hang to dry! I'm short so I find standing on a stool for the hand washing and spinning gives me better leverage and makes it easier.I'm very happy with this washer because after reading the reviews, I bought it expecting I'd likely use it solely to spin out clothing hand washed in the sink, and I was pleased to see I can actually do the hand washing right in the washer with the basket removed, freeing up my sink during the soaking time. Plus I fit more in the washer than I can in my sink! Previously I was using one of those collapsible electric washing machines that sit next to the sink and do a couple t-shirts at a time or some socks and underwear, and after using it daily for only about 8 months it began to leak substantial amounts of water into the bottom motor compartment, so I threw it out and moved to hand washing, but still needed a way to spin without buying an actual motorized spin dryer, which are great but not suitable for my current living situation. Leisurewize LW569 Eco Washer is perfect for my current needs and spins out more water than the little collapsible motorized washer I had to throw away. It's also cheaper and I don't have to worry about accidentally electrocuting myself with water leaking into the electrics area, because there are no electrics!

Good value and effective eco friendly washing machine
Bought this as it's eco friendly and because our washing machine packed up and couldn't afford a decent replacement (zanussi or equivalent).ProsEasy to useGets clothes clean really well (I use a washing board for any stubborn stains), got curry sauce out of a white t-shirt with no stains.Lightweight and compactEco/budget friendly - uses far less water and no electricGets a little workout in for your armsMuch easier than handwashing with no aidsSpin dry works well, just don't expect it to be the same as with an electric one.ConsThe lid could do with a locking mechanism or clip as it can come loose.Hose clip is a bit flimsySeems to have a slow leak if leaving items to soak for long periods of timeSuction cups aren't great, could do with being a bit biggerDon't over fill as the water buoyancy will force the lid offWhilst you can fit heavier items like towels, hoodies etc you will need to wring out excess water to get the most out of the spin drying.Overall I'm very happy with this handwashing machine, I've only knocked stars off for the constructive criticisms mentioned above. You do need to put in some effort vs the convenience of an electric machine but I personally don't find this to be an issue

Hand operated washer dryer
Seems fairly robust so far bear in mind it requires three hands to use it as a spin dryer one to hold it in place one to spin it and one to hold the drainage hose to direct to flow where you want it.

Much effort needed to achieve nothing much.
I found this item useless for washing clothes. As it merely spins, the top layer of clothes hadn't even got wet by the end of the wash. I was disappointed in it as a drier too. It requires a lot of effort and I had to hold very firmly indeed. Getting it to spin without it lurching is not easy. It's a better drier than a washer (which isn't saying much), but even after much effort I could still wring out water by hand, which defeats it's purpose. I also cut my finger on one of the sharp edged tabs on the lid when closing it. I had hoped it would be an ecological alternative to an electric washer, but after several attempts I decided it wasn't much use. A bucket and hand wringing works far better! I got a refund alright, minus £5 postage. I don't like writing negative reviews, but this was not a good buy and was essentially useless.

Fantastic
Great little washer spinner. Was hard work, but got the family's clothes clean. Spent a whole day using it and did 6 loads. I was without a washing machine for 5 weeks, so this was a godsend. The only neg was the hose isn't long enough to stay clipped on, so had to add an elastic band. I used hot tap water to wash and cold water to rinse. The longer you spin the more water you get out. I spun for 5-10 mins after rinsing. Then put my washed loads on my tumble dryer (raining out). It's an ideal washer if you get a powercut or for doing washing outside on a nice day.

Bad quality!
Initially optimistic, handle broke after 3 uses. Do not buy.

Good lil machine
Good on whole, discharge hose needs redesign as it won't hang low enough. Suction feet not good , lid could do with redesign of locking mech.Operationally Good, left my clothes damp , so dripping water was no problem. Leaked, but that was more due to operator error. On the whole really like thia

There's something you should know...
This product is great for emergencies, or if you're off-grid. Furthermore, I like this product for drying my clothes instead of washing them, it is easy to use and my clothes are not dripping wet nor does it take long. My clothes came out clean. However, my only dislike is that it can be difficult to turn, once water is added and you're washing the clothes (this could be because I don't have much arm/hand strength). But overall it is still a good investment in case anything happens and you don't have electricity.
