Easy V Mandolin Slice, Black

I did alot of research for a new mandolin. After a number of purchases and returns....I finally found this unit and I'm very happy. It is very safe with a hand protector that works well. I like that it has "V" blades as opposed to the angled blade...it seems to cut better. It basically has two slicing thicknesses....thin and thick, which is all I need and I have used it many times already for cutting items for soups, stews, etc. I accomplish all my slicing lightening fast and each potato, etc slices right down to the smallest nub attached to the hand protection tool. It also does julianne which I have not yet used. I especially like the plastic bin that easily and securely attaches to the unit and makes it unnecessary to slice into a bowl or onto a plate/cutting board and stores nicely. I also like that the slicing inserts are safely stored in a cassette. I love the "safe" insert that goes into the unit for storage and the others snap together and store in the unit and the unit then snaps into the plastic discharge container. After owning many different mandolins over the years, I have decided that this is by far the best. Also, after having purchased and returned several others that offered the option to select the desired slice on the unit in one way or another and finding all of them to be flimsy, clumsy, unreliable and/or a little scarey, I'm happy to have found this unit. It is safe, sturdy, reliable and easy to clean. (I use a brush to clean around and on the blades and allow the unit to air dry.) Oh, and the price was right. I highly recommend.

This thing is perfect the size and the perfect slices it produces. The holder and the catch trays are perfectly designed.

Bought this because it is a smaller version of my main use one and I could keep it close by in my pantry. I used it yesterday to julienne some vegetables and potatoes or at least tried. The main blade is very dull and the smaller blades did not fully cut thru the vegetables.

I am very disappointed. The thickest blade is only 6 mm. It's too thin for French fries. My fault. I didn't realize I needed a 9 mm blade. It's extremely difficult to do carrot match sticks or any carrot mainly because the food holder doesn't grip it. Maybe one should use a cut resistant glove. So I find it too limited for my uses..

Easy to slice, good quality product

This slicer can be a pretty dangerous object if you don't put everything together correctly. After some mishaps, I've finally figured it out. I'm surprised that there aren't any specific instructions included - seems like a liability issue.

Works fine. Be sure to use the slicing attachment.
