8/10 Good Game!
It has a good survival atmosphere. Story is a little bit lacking... but the true ending is great. This is the most underrated Breath of Fire game in the series. This is more appreciated by an older teen/adult audience due to the amount of planning and strategy. Children will probably struggle very hard with this game. Especially at the beginning. The game came to me in perfect new condition sealed in plastic. It comes with a single page pamphlet. Disc was immaculate. Price was fair. I would recommend to friends!

Awesome Game!
Game came in great condition, reminded me how hard this game was all those years ago but I love a challenge! The story is awesome and pulls you in, so you want to try and make it as far as the possible before you even think of restarting.

Breath of Fire that is different from the previous titles.
I have played and beat Breath of Fire 2,3,4 and Dragon Quarter, this is one of my favorite in the series. This game gets a bad rap because it was very different from the earlier titles, I applaud Capcom for thinking outside the box and releasing this game. The story is a great, not groundbreaking, but good enough to have left an impression on me. The combat is where this game really shines, also the Dragon Meter, if the meter reaches 100, its time to start over. With a game this fun It's not that big of a deal to me.Dragon Quarter, could have been a different game all together but with Ryu and Nina in it, this definitely a Breath of Fire game to give a try.

Not as hard as they claim. Here's why.
I played every game in the series before this one. At first, I was a little annoyed that like BoF4 the developers had steered away from the plot of 1-3.However, this game offers alot of original gaming concepts that aren't found in other games. If you have never played an rpg before, this game WILL eat you alive. The battle system is complex, but only for the first couple of areas. My suggestion, if you buy this game and don't want to follow a walkthrough, is to understand and comprehend the SoL system first. Which is the unique saving system. I did not pay much attention to it until my 3rd new game+. I realized then that the first playthrough would have been much easier if I hadn't tried to rush through the game.Wonderful game.

Fatal Flaws
Pros: Interesting battle system, interesting storyCons: SAVE COINS, SAVE COINS, SAVE COINSYou know, I was enjoying this game. It's not the greatest game ever made, but it has an interesting battle system and a goal to look forward to. But there is a terrible flaw: in order to save the game you must use a save coin. These save coins are not buyable items - you randomly stumble upon them through the game, and they are scarce. How scarce? I played through five hours of the game, defeating five of the main bosses near the very end, and then died against the next boss. I was unable to save any of this progress because I did not find one single save coin during this time. I think I should repeat that.*I was not allowed to save the game through five boss fights and five hours of gameplay.*I don't know what kind of clown thought this was a good idea, but they should not be allowed to work on video games anymore. I don't have five hours to piss away, just to lose it all because of absurdly poor game design. My point is: Don't play this game unless you think you can play an entire game without dying once, because you cannot count on being able to save your game. Total BS.

Lots of fun. Never played a jRPG quite like it
Extremely underrated game. Lots of fun. Never played a jRPG quite like it. It's like Final Fantasy Tactics made love to Breath of Fire and their genius emo child struck out on its own. Only difficulty I had with the game was the learning curve. The game fails to explain the nuances of certain things to you, so I would read into mechanics of the game prior to starting. The game briefly goes over everything so that you can certainly play on a basic level, but there's quite a few details they never fill in.
