Worth the $10
I went out and bought a regular socket to remove the oil filter cap. It’s in a tight spot, but always did the job. Last oil change it got caught and I was stuck for a bit. I managed to get it off and finish removing the cap without causing any damage, but started looking for a better solution and picked up this one. Works like a charm and leaves plenty of room to work in that tight spot. I’ll be using it for oil changes probably years to come.

Currently work for Ford as a technician. A 27mm is all you need for your oil cartridges. These seem to be the same sockets that come in Harbor Freight's ICON set. It's good quality and very low profile.

Fits oil filter PERFECTLY!!
Purchased this socket to fit the “nut” part on an oil filter wrench I purchased. The oil filter wrench had the 3/8” square hole to just insert a 3/8” ratchet into, but many reviews had stated issues with that 3/8” hole stripping or breaking off. The recommended way to use the filter wrench was to actually purchase a socket to fit the “nut” that was there around the 3/8” ratchet size hole. This socket fits perfectly and eliminates any chance of me breaking off the center socket hole of my oil filter wrench. Make sure to verify what size your oil filter wrench needs, as the “nut” size is not universal. I had to purchase a 36 mm socket for an oil filter wrench for a different vehicle I own.

socket makes oil change easier.
Use this on a GMC terrain with 2.4 4 cylinder engine. socket makes access to oil filter cap nut easier but still requires a swivel. Socket is shorter than standard socket and has thinner wall which helps get oil filter cap loose.

Perfect fit
I just used this socket for the first time, and it's a perfect fit for my 2.4 L ecotec engine. No more wasting 30 minutes trying to back the cap out with an adjustable wrench that just barely fits!
