Solo Stove Bonfire Heat Deflector Solo Stove Genuine Japanese Product

It is a good item for the Solo Stove to help disperse the generous amount of heat that is given off and I look forward to using it this fall and winter. I gave it 3 stars because the fasteners that snap in to secure the legs are a poor design. 2 of the 3 are loose and do not assemble as specified in the instructions. I expect to have to modify the method of securing those legs in order for the deflector to be stable.

I read a number of reviews before my purchase, most making the same point, that this addition is expensive, but having had 2 evenings with this installed it is a game changer for fire pits. It directs the flow of heat our and down allowing you to sit further back and to be comfortable in the knowledge that the costly wood you are burning is not just going straight up. Absolutely love this. The Solo bonfire pit with this deflector are superb.

You gotta trust Solostove when they say it distributes the heat. Very pricy and huge to store or transport/ take along. Legs of the distributor are long enough so you can add larger logs while using it, once I even bbq and cooked on top of the disc with wrapped foil over my food. The disc gets dirty though, so have gloves near by or get the costumed made carry bag if you are going to travel with it. You can even place the distributor on top of the spark protection. Holding mechanism of the legs are kind of loose when moved around so need to watch out for the parts getting lost or fixate them with some wire. With the UFO looking like appliance our legs and feet do get to feel the heat of the fire but it disrupts the significant flame, a solostove has, a little bit.
