Headache to install, but worth it!
Purchased 3 of these. One in kitchen & two down the hallway. My husband put up 2 of them & my father put the other one up. In both instances, curse words were uttered. My husband said they are similar to “boob light” installation. So if you’re familiar with that, you should be good to go. I don't think it takes an expert. But I believe they are worth it. They look amazing. The bottom plate is glass, not sure if I noticed that when I purchased it. Not a problem for me though. I am pleased with this purchase & may buy another for our laundry room.

Pretty and affordable but the lens aka the glass, was broken before installation.
Purchased these several times for a renovation project, just opened them and one of the lights the glass is broken. Otherwise great light for the price. Just need to find a way to replace the glass that was broken.

Not bad
Missing instructions for shade installation. We guessed.Missing the hardware to hold the shade on to the column. Thankfully I had a piece that fit from an earlier project.

OK for the money, bear to install
After buying this in March my husband and I finally got around to putting it up. People saying this is easy to install must work for Progress Lighting. What should’ve taken an hour took 2 1/2 hours to install. As many have noted the instructions are worthless because it’s so difficult to make out in the graphic where the various screws need to go. We put the screws that point down into the wrong holes on the mounting plate and didn’t realize it until we went to put the light fixture up. Then we had to take the whole thing apart and start over in order to move the screws so they aligned with the holes. As we were using really long screws to mount it to the ceiling it was a ton of effort to get them repositioned. Trying to get the screws through the holes blind also was a pain. One of the decorative ball nuts that cover the screws is machined wrong and barely tightens leading to a very wobbly light fixture. At least the glass diffuser went on pretty easily and the shade is in good shape. I wish I would’ve checked the color on the metal pieces before hand because I would’ve spray painted them black as the bronze is more of a brown. But hey, we only paid 45 bucks for this so you get what you pay for.

Install made me CRY
I first need to start with two things.1) The lights looks really nice ONCE UP.2) I have done my very fair share of lighting and electrical installs in my home and my family's homes. Ceiling lights, vanity lights, fans, etc. Done them. However...THIS light made my CRY out of frustration. Big fat tears rolling down my face. The installation instructions are horrible, but the blind mount of the base is what truly did me in. You are trying to get two (just barely long enough) screws to line up perfectly with the two small holes that they are supposed to go through. All this while making sure your wires don't pop out, and you can't see ANYTHING! And while you wrestle with this monstrosity for atleast 5-10 minutes on the short end, your arms are holding this above your head and turning to firey Jello by the second. Also! Don't forget that once you actually line everything up and you get them through the tiny holes you need, you have to get the small screw ends to thread on perfectly without dropping the little b******s. If you do, and you don't have a buddy, well then you are in trouble and will have to start ALLLL over again...I despise these lights. The ONLY reason I didn't throw them back into the box and return them is because I got one light up and I couldn't let it defeat me. I needed the win. These lights are beautiful (truly) but you will hate them for what they did to you during installation. Proceed with Caution ⚠️

As described - looks expensive
I first ordered one for the downstairs hallway, and we liked it so much we ordered two more for upstairs. Easy enough to switch out the old "boob" style flush mount fixtures. We purchased the used/very good condition options for all three fixtures and received essentially perfect ones, saving about $10 each.Happy to save money and put someone's returned fixtures to use. All work flawlessly with no dented shades, imperfections, or missing parts. Highly recommend.

Good ceiling light but some installation issues.
Please read this before you install your new ceiling light. Wash your hands thoroughly before installing the shade, because your fingers will probably get dirty while installing the fixture and you’ll never get your fingerprints off of the shade. Also, the screws that are included to install the fixture are really too short to work with easily; so even though they do work, avoid the frustration and buy screws that are at least a quarter inch longer. Other than that, it’s a quality product. I bought seven of these for a remodel and all were in perfect condition and all parts and hardware was present, and my realtor gave me the thumbs up for style choice. Lastly, because the lamp takes two 60 watt bulbs, it really brightens up a room for such a small fixture.

Clean look for small change!
Installation not too bad except for lining up fixation screws but otherwise easy.
