well-designed
These gloves seem pretty well thought-out.They are comfortable, with mesh vents near the base of the fingers. There's thick padding on the palm, which may save you from breaking your arms when you break your fall. The fingertips have very good grip. The exposed thumb and index finger feel strangely cold, but i guess that's normal for exposed finger gloves. There was also some seemingly decorative rubber strips on the tops of the hands, the glue holding them on was post-it weak, so i just ripped them all off, as they seemed to serve no apparent purpose anyway. The dexterity with these gloves is such that i can actually type in my password to unlock my computer.

The best sailing gloves for racing!
I needed a reliable pair of gloves for racing, especially since I'm on the foredeck. I've tried other brands, but these are the best by far! They're durable, have an excellent non-slip grip, and fit my hand perfectly. Highly recommend!

Good gloves
Small at outset, but seem to fit better over time; warm and flexible.

Great for hike protection and electronics use too
Used these on a back country thru hike on the Old Tahoe to Yosemite trail and on to the John Muir Trail to Mount Whitney this past summer going just under 510 miles. I know these are built for sail handling but they work great for hand protection and GPS and phone accessibility. Nice feature is that water does nothing to these and washing them works great when dirty. A few of the decorative strips on the back of the gloves peeled off but who cares. Had to bushwhack thru a few stretches of unmaintained trail along with some granite climbing along the Old Tahoe to Yosemite section (not the Pacific Crest trail) and these gloves protected my hands great. Couldn't even tell that there was any abrasion occurring. I use trekking poles and after the trip I couldn't tell that these gloves had traveled all that way. Good to go for more miles and trips. Hands did not heat up or perspire while walking thru warm weather in the latter part of the trip. Venting works great. Will buy these again when the current pair show wear and tear (could be a while).

Best gloves I've owned for competitive sailing
I love these gloves. I've tried so many and these are the best. I sail almost entirely for competitive races- summer, fall, spring. They're not great for extremely cold weather, but they work in cold situations. I generally get a pair each year, but I can get away with using an old pair if I have to- they last longer than any other gloves I've had. They're very 'sticky' even if they're kind of old or have been used a lot (which is great because they aren't the cheapest). They are not uncomfortable or cumbersome if you wear a watch. They're not extremely breathable, but they're not going to make things too much worse on a hot day. I have found when they get wet, they don't dry well (but most gloves don't wick) and your skin may pickle a bit (but not so much as the gloves with a lot of heavy material). They protect the back of your hands, too. I am the core jib and spinnaker trimmer for our boat and have never had an issue in heavy wind with these gloves. There are no real solutions to prevent your hands from being tired (unless you exercise/prepare them), but these have saved me from excessive tiredness because the grip is so good. The only issue I had with them this time is the measurement guide (and I checked their site before I ordered). I wasn't at home to check the size of my previous gloves, so I had to measure when ordering. I measured my hand and ordered what was recommended. They were too large. Since these are nearly impossible to find in a store, you kind of have to take a chance if ordering the first time. I have normal women's hands and I take a small. (These gloves only have typical sizes- they do not have women's or men's sizes).

Very snug fitting, especially at the wrists.
I ordered XL, could barely get them off the first day I wore them. Trying the XXL this week.

Poorly designed, bad fit
These gloves are poorly designed and a poor fit. I bought medium sized gloves, which usually fit me perfectly. They are too narrow at the base of the hand, and the fingers are much too long. The velcro strap at the wrist has a velcro tab in the middle. It doesn't release when you try to release the strap. Very inconvenient. I ended up cutting off that tab. The simulated leather finger tips are are on the wrong side - they cover the finger nails instead of my finger tips. And those simulated leather finger tips are not all the same color. The inside of the gloves at the finger tips is a plasticky material that makes my fingers sweat. I've thrown out these new gloves and bought a different pair.
