Not What I Expected!!
After buying a new stove to replace the unreliable propane-burning appliance that we inherited from the previous owners of this house, I wanted to ensure that I kept the new stove in immaculate condition. After bopping around online for a bit, I was torn between this product and another; as you can surmise from this review, I chose this one.Opening the crushed cardboard tube container, I withdrew the cover and removed it from its cellophane envelope. What I got was a solid black, thin piece of Teflon that was maybe half the weight of a standard piece of printer paper. What I expected was a tan liner similar in thickness to a silpad (silicone pad) that you can use on sheet pans and the like. I came back here to double-check the manufacturer's listing to see if I missed the part about the product being nothing but a sheet of Teflon and found nothing. Still, I wanted to believe that my product was worth the cost. Here is a breakdown of my impressions:Pros*Easy to cut in order to size the sheet to fit your oven. You can use a standard pair of scissors or kitchen shears.*Wipes clean with a wet cloth, sometimes without dish soap, depending upon the stain that you are cleaning.*Is durable enough for most baking needs.Cons*Not designed for an electric oven. That being said, the product should be placed upon the bottom rack, which is not clear in the picture.*Only works up to 480°F. That means that anything you bake at 475°F is cutting it very close to the melting point of the Teflon sheet. If your oven hasn't been calibrated in a while or it "bakes hot", you could easily surpass the melting point. As a result, using this product at the upper spectrum of its durability could be risky. You will probably want to remove this liner if you are unsure and stick to placing a half-sheet pan on the bottom rack to catch any drippings.*Flimsy: when removing the sheet from your oven, you want to make sure that you slide it out onto a flat, wide surface. Otherwise, the sheet will fold (similar to holding a sheet of paper centered on the palm of your hand), potentially resulting in crumbs/sticky drippings getting all over your floor, oven door, or you.*Has to be stored either rolled up or laying flat, meaning it takes up more storage space in your cabinets than is convenient.OverallAs the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. I wish that I spent the extra cash for a heavy-duty pad, and my thriftiness with this purchase led to disappointment. While the liner is flimsy, it does help to protect my oven (and exposed heating element) from the ravages of bubbled-over casseroles to crumbly pie crusts. Unfortunately, aluminum foil does the same thing and is much easier (and in most cases thicker) to deal with: simply crumple up the foil and toss it in the trash. While wiping off the sheet in itself is not difficult, the quality of the product drove me back to lining the bottom rack with foil: cheap, disposable, and in most instances able to withstand more heat than the Teflon liner.Save your cash and either stick to foil or find a heavier-duty oven liner.

Does what it's supposed to
This was much thinner than I expected it to be, but that makes it easy to trim down to fit your particular oven. I have a gas range, so the instructions are to place this on your lowest oven rack, as the base of a gas range gets too hot for this product, and it will block the vents. That is not the fault of this product, but it does eliminate the usefulness of your second rack, so if you need two racks you have to remove this product.I bought this because we make a decent amount of frozen pizzas when we are feeling lazy, which is about once a week. Those are obviously best when baked directly on the rack, which is fine, but often results in a good amount of melted cheese sliding off the pizza and onto other parts of the oven. This gets gross pretty quickly. This product does protect the bottom half of your oven from dripping molten cheese, but it also seems to result in the frozen pizzas not getting crispy on the bottom anymore, which is sort of the point of cooking it directly on the rack in the first place. That being said, this is definitely much easier to clean than the whole oven, so it is a great product, there are just a few down-sides. It also sort of smells as your oven heats, which makes me a little concerned about whether the gases are entering our food and we are ingesting it. Not concerned enough to stop using it though. When your dime's up your time's up, and using BPA-free water bottles and not microwaving your food in Tupperware is probably not going to change that.

Works Well
I first learned of such a thing as an oven liner from my daughter who loves to cook and especially items that require baking. She purchased her liners locally but she does not live near me so I figured Amazon would surely carry something like this. Not surprisingly, I found this liner which is a different brand from that which my daughter uses but I decided to give it a go.I have a self-cleaning oven that takes many hours to clean and, of course, consumes a huge amount of electricity. I decided to give this liner a try and ordered three of them because the price was right if they worked. The liners that I received are black rather then the brownish color in the product description. Installation was a cinch because the liner width fit perfectly and I had to cut some of the length which was easily accomplished with a pair of scissors. The first recipe which required baking called for a temperature of 425 degrees. Some of the food dropped down onto the liner during the baking process but was easily removed from the liner. The days of going through the nuisance of using the self-cleaning feature of the oven are over. Thanks to my daughter and to the reasonable price at Amazon the baking future at this house will include using an oven liner. I expect the ones I have on hand to last quite a while but when they need replacing I will be right back here for more of these. They are a winner.
