Derwent Inktense Watercolour Pencils Tin (Set of 72)

I bought the 24 pencils tin last week. I had read in other reviews that the first thing to do is to make a colour chart because the shades when dried and washed are different. Simply dry colours are not rich or vibrant but the pencils glide smoothly over the paper (better the quality of paper, better the results), but when you add water... Oh My God! It's so good! The colours instantly pop! They are very vibrant and rich. The number of shades in 24 tin is honestly limited. If one can afford, they should go for 36 or even better, 72! I love watercolours and these pencils have made my life much simpler by just putting pencils to paper and giving a wash with water instead of spending time mixing and daubing with watercolour tubes or cakes (although that is enjoyable too if one has time). The ink dries fast and once it's dried it becomes permanent. Blending the colours are also easy by shading with dry pencils then adding water. All in all, even though it's a bit pricey, since the pencils will go a long way (depending on artworks, of course), it's worth it. It's a great buy and if you love watercolours then you should go for it.

Wonderful product, joy to work with, worth the money

I am a beginner to water colours. These have very good intensity of colour however, the ink colour on the pencil differs from the colour after applying water to it(activating the colour) These are vibrant and I could use them on pre painted background. So layering is easy. Haven't tried all the colours. I miss seeing light pink shades even though it's a full set of 72, but can be created when needed. Overall I like working with them. These are good quality.

Great coloured pencils, they are lovely to use and have a lot of pigmentation and you don't have to press hard. Only thing is that the colours are basic standard ones, need to purchase the larger set to have the variety of colours, such as light blues, lilacs, lavenders, light purple to dar, and also the greens. So I have to check that out...........but fantastic product and beautiful colours.

Its rich with water and good to use as dry medium too. Am loving the colors. Rich and creamy texture makes it easy to apply In layers.

色鉛筆画に目覚めた勢いで、古今東西の有名どころに一揃い手を出したうちの一つです。 ３万前後というお値段にかなり悩みましたが、どうせ買うならと100色。圧巻の色揃いに持っているだけで満足しそうです。様子見で最初は中途半端な色数を買ってもどうせ買い直すだろうな…と、自分の性格を理解した上で最初から一番色数が多いセットにしました。結果、正解でした。 このほかポリクロモスやパブロやルミナンスやと、10年に一度の大大浪費をしましたので、しばらくは大人しく節約に励みたいと思います（切実） そんなにまだ上手でもないんですが、せっかく買ったのでどんどん使っていこうと思います。というやる気は出ますね、さすがに。

Ich nutze mittlerweile seit über zwanzig Jahren die Derwent Stifte für Porträtmalerei und bin mehr wie zu Frieden damit. Habe mir nach gut einem Jahrzehnt mal wieder ganze Stiftekästen (72er Chromaflow sowie die 72 Inktense im Holzkoffer) gegönnt, da ich ansonsten die Stifte bisher einzeln nachgekauft habe. Beide Stiftearten haben richtig angewandt ihre Vorteile und lassen sich insbesondere kombiniert sehr gut verwenden. Das Portrait von Herrn Hetfield (Bild1) wurde auf strukturstarkem Acrylpapier zur Probe der Stifte gezeichnet. (Habe hierfür auch nur diese beiden Stiftsorten verwendet) Durch die Maserung bei dickem Papiers entstehen i.d.R. viele weiße Stellen, die durch anfeuchten des Auftrages mit den Inktense sehr eben und deckend wurden. Gerade an dem schwarzen T-Shirt lässt sich gut erkennen, wie sauber und eben die Flächen werden. Natürlich ist ein möglichst flächendeckendes "ausmalen" auch Voraussetzung. Da diese Stifte aber auch sehr, sehr cremig sind, sind filigrane Details ehr schwierig. Dafür eignen sich wiederum hier die ebenfalls pigmentstarken Chromaflow, da diese ein wenig härter sind und hervorragend über den Inktense sich auftragen lassen. Der Auftrag erfolgt ebenfalls sehr flächendeckend und es lassen sich selbst z.T. helle Details auf dunklem Grund nachzeichnen. Beide Stiftearten lassen sich auch super mischen und kombinieren. Mit glatterem Papier und ein paar anderen Arbeitsmaterialien ergänzen die Derwent Stifte super das Profisortiment und es lassen sich realistische Darstellungen zeichnen. (Siehe Bild 2 ). Ebenfalls ein dickes plus ist das unschlagbare Preis-Leistung Verhältnis. Im Gegensatz zu anderen "Marken" ist der Preis sehr fair und man bekommt sehr pigmentstarke und robuste Stifte dafür. :) Ein ebenfalls nettes Gimmick ist der Holzkoffer. Die Stifte liegen fest und sicher darin, während die Mienen durch weichem Schaumstoff am Rande vor Bruch geschützt werden. Die Beiden Holzstreben, die mittig die Stifte stützen sind mit Magneten sicher in einer kleinen Schienenführung angebracht, damit auch nichts woanders hinrutscht. Dennoch lassen diese sich gut entfernen und die Stifte einfach entnehmen. Bezüglich Brüche oder Transportschäden kann ich auch nicht klagen, da alles gut verpackt und heil ankam.

Niet de gewoonlijke waterverf potloden maar werken net zo goed of veel beter. Kan even wennen zijn aan de rijkheid van pigment.

Beautiful pencils at the cheapest price I have seen. Like many other people I have a set of 72 pencils. The 100 set were incredibly expensive online. I also saw a couple of places online where they have the 28 pencils that have been included in the 100 set. (They were selling the 28 pencils at A$5 per pencil plus postage... so around $150). I will attach a picture of my colour swatch for the extra 28 pencils which come in this 100 set.
