Avocet Affinity 12" Black Letterplate Premium Heavy Duty Sprung Letter Box UPVC Wood Door

After a few mishaps with replacement letterboxes being delivered with bits missing and packaging already opened. I opted for this one. It is slightly more expensive than the 15 quid ones I had tried before, but you can see why. It really is a solid letterbox. It came with all the necessary bits to fit. The letterbox hole in my door was on the slightly smaller side top to bottom ( 45mm ) but I was able to manipulate the rear sleeve ( larger side ) through the opening. The plastic sleeve has slight flex in it and I know I was being lazy by not trimming the hole the extra 1mm, but it still worked. The front section slides into the rear one, so if you can get the rear side in without issues, the front will nestle in with no issues The actual flap mechanism is very strong and the overall look is very high quality. I'm really impressed and can honestly say, it's one of the better letterboxes out there for the money. I am super fussy when it comes to products, so when I see something that does what it says, I think it's worth mentioning. I have a feeling the postman/woman will have met their match breaking this one.

I purchased this to change my door furniture to black. This letter box was so much heavier (due to better quality materials) than the original cheap aluminium one that came with my door. This letter box seems very sturdy and weather tight - it was a bit more expensive than some of the other units on Amazon, but I guess you get what you pay for - I would recommend.

This letterbox is slightly pricey but is built well. It fit in the space I needed with perfect measurements and the measurements described are true to size. The black Matt is perfect and stylish. It's a solid and weighty letterbox making it a great replacement.

Perfect fit. I wasn't expecting anything from a letter box but love this. Its solid and love it when you can just swap out something without adjusting. 100 times better and nicer then our previous letter box.

Easy installed, very well made, great choice

Although this looks a good quality product it was not at all easy to install. There are no instructions provided. Ended up having to enlarge the opening in my door, drill 2 holes for the bolts, shorten each bolt with a hacksaw and then improve the rigidity by added 4 of my own small screws on each side of the door. Not as easy as it should have been! Looks good and works well now though.
