an unexpected favorite
I first bought this cracker at a local store, because it was gluten-free and buckwheat, and I like buckwheat. I did not expect to like it as much as I did (I thought the taste would be similar to that of rice cakes, and was ok with that), but the texture is unique and the cracker is very crispy and light--you could eat a box and not know it. I also enjoyed the mild, wholesome flavor, and have found it to be a great match equally with sweet or savory toppings, such as: Whole Foods' self-serve honey peanut butter; Trader Joe's cookie butter; Key Ingredients Hot Horseradish and Ale cheese dip (which I get at WF); a very nice quality, Spanish tuna (like Ortiz Bonito or Cuca Ventresca); or some creamy goat cheese (which I get from TJ's) topped with some capers and a nice smoked salmon.. : ) When I found these crackers on Amazon, I immediately bought the multipack. After discovering my favorite way to snack on it--with some thin slices of Trader Joe's goat brie and a thin drizzle of raw, organic honey on top--I came back and ordered 4 more. I had originally also purchased a multipack of the Quinoa flavor, but the Buckwheat is my favorite of the two. In comparison, I thought the quinoa lacked flavor and was just the tiniest bit saltier (but keep in mind that both are almost completely sodium-free). I will also share that we had a visiting relative who went through 6 boxes of both of these crackers, without being on any kind of gluten-free diet, so this is a great cracker that anyone can enjoy. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys simple, natural, healthy-tasting foods with few ingredients (and low sodium), or who is looking for the perfect cracker that goes with everything and frames it with a great texture without clashing or eclipsing it in any way. Calorie count not as stated
I like the taste and the crispiness of this product. It is less tasteless than rice crisps, and being from Russian culture, I like buckwheat period. I usually eat it with peanut or almond butter with a cup of coffee for an afternoon snack. However, the product got has different nutritional characteristics from the label pictured. The crisps are bigger and have 55 calories per a serving instead of 44. The amount of servings is not easily identified (55 cals per 15 grams, one crisp weighs about 8 grams, so two pieces will be closer to 58 calories instead of 44. Not a big deal, but I like getting what I think I am buying, hence four stars.

A versatile and all-around good product
Someone mentioned in a review that these have a bad texture and don't taste good. While tastes vary, the numerous positive reviews (mine included here) suggest otherwise.I've bought these crisps and I think they're great. They have a wonderful crunchy texture and I don't think they're bland at all, just not salty - as a result, the taste of buckwheat is there -- it's subtle, but it's good. And because they aren't salty you can put sweet things on them, or salty. I love buying all fruit, small batch spreads by local companies, organic local products are always good to support, and fruit spreads taste great on these, as do saltier toppings such as hummus or techina, or whatever it is that you might think of - sliced avocado with a sprinkle of salt and lemon is especially good and super healthy to boot. All in all very versatile, healthy, and good tasting.

kinda funky
like eating weird seaweed with nutty flavor. it doesn't really have the feel of cracker, it feels like a cellulose noodles, those oriental bean noodles consistency, can't say that i like. but its gluten free, so its ok to eat.

BAD SMELL - LIKE IT HAD BEEN SITTING IN A WET AREA FOR A LONG TIME
I tried this because of the reviews -- so I guess I'm the only one who really dislikes it. To me it has no taste at all, which I could deal with, but my main complaint is that it has a strange smell'. It reminds me of mildew,,,I just could not get past the smell. I will have to toss it out for the birds.

Tasteless
I accidentally bought 5 boxes and I wasn't going to waste so I have been using them instead of bread. They are fine if I put some kind of good meat topping such as chicken salad or tuna. I could not eat these plain....no taste. Not much nutritional value either.

I buy these by the case!
My initial try of these was to take one out and eat it, plain and dry...not real impressive. Then I tried them as a base for a moist topping (even tuna or chicken salad) and enjoy them very much. Even eat them plain now when I need to eat something crispy! Finding suitable GF substitutes and adjusting to the new diet takes some time, but when you realize the benefits of "being good," it's so worth it! Try this: spread with cream cheese then spread with a berry jam (yesterday we did black currant...oooh, yummy!). They are very crunchy/dry and must be eaten over a plate or you'll be covered with crumbs!

Excellent alternative for people on a gluten-free diet
Last summer my niece brought some buckwheat crisps from Europe which I enjoyed very much. Orgran is a somewhat more economical alternative which I have recently used almost exclusively. Sometimes I spread a little avocado under cold cuts; it is also very good with cheeses. It is light, doesn't require a toaster, contains no wheat, nuts, or additives. I have used it since last summer and am completely satisfied with it.
