These boots are excellent
This review is on purchase March 2022. I ordered my usual size and happy to say they fit perfectly wearing my usual walking socks. Compared to my other boots, I’d say they are slightly on the snug side but soft, lightweight and feel so comfy on. They look good on too, not too bulky. We’ll worth the £84 paid. I recently bought a pair of Merrell walking shoes, which are equally comfy and fit perfectly. It was on the strength of that purchase that I decided to buy these boots. Think I have become a Merrell fan. Don’t think I’ll buy any other brand from now on.

Ben Nevis And Not Even A Blister
In the past few years I've gone through several makes of walking boot - Karrimor, Mountain Warrehouse, and others I can't even remember - and been disappointed with them all. Some fell apart within a couple of months, some within mere weeks. After being recommended Merrells by several people I decided it was time to give them a go...I'm not a hardcore walker by any means, but they were extremely comfortable from the first time I put them on (I did experience very minor discomfort in my right arch the first couple of times I wore them, and not sure if that's down to a slight difference in my feet or in the sole, but it didn't persist.)After owning these boots for about three weeks and using them for sedate walks around Norfolk to break them in, I decided, on short notice, to drive to Scotland and climb Ben Nevis. Having done no preparation, nor having had them long, I fully expected to lose bits of my feet to chafing and rubbing on the climb but no, not a single blister! The following day my legs refused to work properly, but my feet were as fresh as when I left. Remarkable!I can't comment on their longevity yet, having only had them for 6 weeks, but at present they show no signs of wear and I will definitely stick with Merrell boots from now on!

plush perambulators
Good fit, very comfortable and in my opinion they look good. Height of lacing allows ease in getting on/off. Worn in very heavy rain and shallow snow. In heavy rain, water did once get in via tongue, but then they are "mid waterproof" and it's only once in many times out in rain. I also had waterproof trousers on so rain was running off them on to my feet.2020-06-09Stitching has failed on outside of one boot at widest part of foot. They were worn often, usually in poor weather conditions.

Great quality, very comfortable, not all weather.
These are good quality boots and are very light and comfortable to wear. Grip is good and the construction provides plenty of support. However, I would suggest that the boots are not proper all weather walking boots as the tongue is not the 'bellows' type and water will enter the boot halfway up. The leather nap looks very good but is easily scuffed/marked, these boots have a 'mostly competent out on the trail but are too nice looking to get dirty and scuffed' air about them.

These are not waterproof
I bought these boots for occasional walking in the countryside. The boots are very comfortable and fit nicely but the main purpose I got these were because they are advertised as waterproof. The first time I have worn them in wet fields the water went straight through the tongue area and soaked the inside of the boots. Not impressed.

On My Second Pair
This is the second pair of these that I've bought and I wear them constantly. On average they seem to last about 5 years before they start letting in water for me. I'm just shopping for my 3rd pair so that tells you all you need to know.

Good comfortable shoes, let down by slippery soles
These boots are very comfortable indeed! I ordered half a size larger than I would normally buy, based on advice of other reviews, and am glad I did. From the first use there has been no rubbing or blisters as has been the case with other walking shoes I have owned in the past. However there are, in my opinion, two flaws with these shoes:1. They are sold as being “waterproof”, but beware the tongue is not continuous with the lace holes, so water runs in around the laces giving you a wet foot.2. More problematic though is the sole design. It does indeed have a good deep tread. BUT when walking along a wet pavement iris like walking on ice - the sole just seems to lack any sort of grip on wet paving, be it tarmac, concrete or paving slabs. Perhaps when I have walked a few more miles (they have probably covered about 200 so far) and the surface of the sole has worn a little, it will develop a better grip.So in summary a great fitting and very comfortable shoe, let down by a couple of flaws, which if you buy intending to walk in the wet should be taken into consideration.
