Southern Keto: 100+ Traditional Food Favorites for a Low-Carb Lifestyle Review: Great, easy recipes, making it so easy to stay on the Keto diet! - I got this book probably a week ago or so. I read the first few pages in the sample view before purchasing it. I really liked the author's personal journey to find success on the Keto diet. Her advice not to weigh yourself daily is so compassionate. I could tell that she really understand the difficulty of struggling with weight, poor body image, and low self-esteem. I bought some ingredients - all everyday stuff you can find anywhere, and tried the Fauxtato soup first. WOW. This was so delicious! I'm so glad that it didn't start to smell like sulfur in the fridge. I made the cinnamon muffins, egg muffins, Fauxtato salad as well. The author included storage information for each recipe (how long you can keep things in the refrigerator), so it made it so easy to plan ahead for weekdays and weekends. I live by myself, so it is usually difficult to just cook for myself without wasting food (I typically manage to not waste anything but I AM careful). I really like how simple the recipes are. They help me eat vegetables because they are delicious. I'm so happy with this book. I cannot wait to try more recipes! Review: Delicious Southern Comfort—Keto Style! - This is a must-have for anyone following a keto lifestyle who still craves the bold, comforting flavors of Southern cooking. This book does an amazing job of recreating classic dishes—like biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, and shrimp and grits—without all the carbs. The recipes are easy to follow, using simple, accessible ingredients that fit perfectly into a low-carb, high-fat diet. The author also includes helpful macros and nutritional breakdowns, which make meal planning a breeze. Whether you’re new to keto or a seasoned pro, you’ll appreciate the balance of flavor and nutrition in these dishes. What I love most is that the recipes don’t feel like “diet” food—they’re rich, satisfying, and packed with Southern flair. If you’re looking to enjoy comfort food while staying keto, this cookbook is a game-changer. Highly recommended!

Delicious recipes! Many require a lot of dairy.
My husband and I are fairly new to Keto (4-5 months) and previously ate food that tasted great, but was horrible for us. Since we started, he’s lost 60lbs, and is no longer diabetic, I’ve lost 30lbs, and am no longer hypoglycemic. But finding recipes to make this way of life sustainable has been a must. Enter Southern Keto... I love this cookbook! I enjoyed Natasha’s story, I appreciate her encouragement & positivity. The pictures are beautiful, the recipe instructions are easy to follow, and the food is delicious! I’ve made 5 or 6 recipes so far, and my husband and I have really enjoyed them all. I will mention that most of what I’ve made or seen requires quite a lot of dairy, so if you’re trying to avoid that, this book may not be for you. I’m blown away at the texture, consistency, & moistness of the drop biscuits! You’d never know they weren’t made with “normal” white flour. Pictures attached include: Chili Cheese Pot Pie (which have the basic Drop Biscuit recipe on top) Loaded Fauxtato Soup (tastes just like Saltgrass’ baked potato soup!!) Ground Beef Stroganoff over caulimash, (mushrooms omitted, simply because we don’t care for them. Still tasted great!) Drop Biscuits (alternate recipe with cheddar & dried chives) Not pictured: Zucchini Bread - I didn’t have oat fiber & tried to sub with psyllium husk & the texture/consistency was waaaaayyyy off, but it still tasted good, so it didn’t go to waste! I will definitely make it again, with the proper ingredients & I’m positive it will be delicious & have the right, bread-like consistency.

Pros & Cons
Pro: This book is exactly what it claims to be: recipes for a keto-friendly diet. Con: The author suggests a keto diet of 75% fat. She even advocates the use of pure bacon grease and lard. Yes, lard! Pro: She includes general nutrition information in the corner of each recipe page, which is very helpful. Con: Did not include serving sizes. Pro: Beautifully presented and very informative. Con: This is a niche book, so don’t expect a lot of non-keto company for dinner. Pro: Easy to read and understand without a bunch of useless jargon. Con: None Overall, I like this book. It’s solid and the recipes work. However, keep in mind that they’re not all heart healthy ideas, so be prepared to work around that little caveat.

Incredible Recipes!
I have been cycling in and out of keto for the last year because I get stuck on eating boring meals (a chicken thigh with broccoli or cauliflower on the side, no special seasonings) and fall off the wagon when I see baked goods in the store. I saw this book at a client's house and decided to buy one. Wow, these recipes are incredible! I made the creamy broccoli/ground beef casserole, fried chicken (whey protein powder is amazing!), blueberry muffins, butter cookies, chocolate pudding and the cheesecake with pecan/almond flour crust. I'm blown away by the cheesecake, as I have never tasted anything so creamy and wonderful. It's better than the regular kind! Because the recipe makes a large cheesecake, I cut the ingredients in half and made cheesecake bars in a 8x8 baking dish. It's a total hit with family and friends who didn't know it was keto. My other favorite is the chocolate pudding, which is made from chia seeds. I couldn't get it to firm up into a pudding (my chia seeds weren't fresh) so I froze it and turned them into delicious fudge bars. Wow! The creamy broccoli ground beef casserole was very good but a little rich with 3 different kinds of cheese in it. I may pare back the cream cheese and add more ground beef, plus more veggies to it. There are so many other recipes I want to try and very excited about it. Drop biscuits are next on my list, and I'm not even a fan of biscuits. But they look delicious and I'm hearing rave reviews on them here in the comments section. ***Berries can definitely work in a keto diet. It's not like you're eating a half cup of berries per serving; just a few. It works. I LOVE berries so I don't eliminate them while eating keto. This helps me stay on it. Update: Just made the strawberry shortcake recipe and it’s awesome! I used parchment cupcake cups to make 4 shortcakes. This is a keeper!! Another update: Just made the One Bowl Butter Cookies and I modified them to include pecan pieces and Lilys milk chocolate baking chips. I also used 1/2 tsp almond extract and 1/8 tsp banana extract (in place of vanilla extract and stevia) and, wow, these are so good! Gave them so much flavor and tastes like a regular flour cookie. Very happy with this cookbook!

FANTASTIC!!
Natasha has done a great job bringing Southern Keto cooking to my kitchen! I was not raised in the South, but have lived here almost half of my life. My husband was raised in the South. We both adopted the Keto lifestyle over a year ago. We have had much success with the Keto lifestyle, but were in need of an easy to follow Keto cookbook with foods we were familiar with and simple to make. THANK YOU, TASHA! This is the second Keto cookbook I have added to my kitchen. My the first book by another author is very good, but not quite as user friendly. Thank you for keeping it simple. And GOOD!! In the first few pages, Tasha shares her life story and struggles with food, weight and health. She has practical tips and simple menus. The layout of the book and photos are well done and inviting. The back of the book has helpful resources. Baking in the Keto lifestyle can be challenging, so I stated in the baking section. We have enjoyed the Drop Biscuits (yes, add the cheddar cheese, awesome!), Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars (de-lish!) and my most recent favorite... Keto Cheesecake with Pecan Almond Crust!! Ok, I said I was raised up North. I KNOW good cheesecake! This cheesecake recipe beats ANY cheesecake recipe I have ever tried... and it is Keto!! I was more than thrilled with the cheesecake and will be baking another one for Christmas Dinner. Oh, and the Grain-free Granola, very good! I took the Butter Roasted Turkey and made a Butter Roasted Chicken. Simple and delicious. After I purchased MY cookbook, I recently purchased two more cookbooks and was going to give them as Christmas gifts. My visiting cousin, who is vegetarian and gluten free, loved the recipes we tried together so much, that she took one of my gift books home with her!! You will not be disappointed. Happy Southern Keto Cooking, y'all!!

Best Keto Cookbook I've read all year!
Wow! I really love this southern Keto Cookbook! I can't wait to get into the kitchen and start trying some of these delicious looking recipes, and just in time for the holidays! Here's why: *I've lost 30 lbs since beginning my Keto lifestyle. *I'm a southern girl, born and raised in North Geogia, where my mother and even my dad made wonderful dishes for their family of four. *The recipes here give me so many much healthier variations of those delicious southern foods. *This book is fabulous in that it has such a variety. There are grocery shopping lists for foods approved for the Keto lifestyle, and really good menus to get your mindset on the right track. There are sooo many recipes, from appetizers to main dishes and beverages to desserts. I know I will use this book again and again, starting now!

The side dishes in this book are amazing!
This cookbook starts out with the author’s story, tips and sample menus. Then it takes you into the recipes. Every recipe is accompanied by a picture, which is so important to me. I like this book a lot because it’s filled with things I loved to eat growing up, just tailored to the keto diet. My favorite recipe, and now house staple, to come from this book is the fauxtato salad. (I personally am not a fan of relish, so I just omit that) my family and I could eat this as a side for almost every meal! I truly believe this is a great book for those starting out on keto and those looking for more sides and appetizer ideas. The mains and desserts are good, but man….I have added so many of her side dishes to our regular rotation for meals!
