Is this magnesium orotate?

This is not magnesium orotate (orotic acid), it is magnesium lysinate glycinate chelate. Which to my understanding means a magnesium chelate complex with one lysine and one glycine molecule bonded to one magnesium atom. The product is sourced by Albion Laboratories, Inc. I would not recommend the orotate form of magnesium, because it's actually magnesium bis-orotate. This is due to the fact that magnesium has a ionic charge of +2 and orotatic acid has a ionic charge of -1, so magnesium ends up bonding to two orotate molecules. This is not good because it's believed the two orotate molecules prevent it, structurally, from being able to dock within the uridine monophosphate synthetase ("UMPS") enzyme. Should it be able to dock, it may (I'm speculating) interfere with orotidine-5'-phosphate decarboxylase (ODCase), as this is believed to be the case with lithium orotate. I'm of the opinion that only cations with a charge of +1 are useful in orotate form, i.g. lithium, sodium, and potassium.This form of magnesium, along with magnesium glycinate and magnesium bis-glycinate are the best forms of magnesium to use if you're supplementing for mental health reasons. Glycine is a neurotransmitter and NMDA co-agonist. NMDA dysfunction has been implicated in many mental health disorders, especially in particular psychotic symptoms and schizophrenia. Thus magnesium glycinate has a dual acting effect on NMDA receptors, helping to restore normal NMDA function.

The coating disappears rapidly as soon as I put it in my mouth. I've choked on it a few times. Any suggestions for getting this down easier?

Don't drink cold water with these pills,they will freeze your throat and make it harder to swollow,drink room temp water,no milk or juice it dilutes the magnesium so your not getting the full amount. You swallow food bigger than this pill,so you can swallow it. I had thyroid removed and have a hard time with big pills,but they help me so much with muscles pain I can't live without them. I have tried different brands, this one works the best. I'm on my 5th order!

How long is each tablet?

These tablets are big, but can easily be chewed or crushed and mixed into Applesauce, Peanut butter, Nutella, Yogurt or whatever suits your taste buds.

How does this type Magnesium compare with the Taurate form? "information overload" online! Just want the best most readily absorbed beneficial! :)

The cheapest form of Magnesium usually contains magnesium oxide, which may not be absorbed as well and may cause diarrhea in some people. Doctor's Best contains magnesium glycinate and magnesium lysinate chelate. Chelate is supposed to improve absorption. Taurate is an amino acid which some feel helps with migraines and may help to improve cardiac function (there is no formal study proving that taurate helps, it is just a belief).

粒が大きいので飲みづらいですが、寝る前に一錠飲んだら寝れるようになった気がします。海外製で日本製より含有量が多いのでコスパがいいですね。しばらく続けられそうです。

でけぇよサイズが長辺2cm短辺、厚み8mmの錠剤って何えっこれ飲み込める？無理じゃない？以上が見た瞬間の感想でした海外の方はこれ飲めるの？日本人だから無理って思うだけ？いやいや。とりあえず現在包丁で細かく砕いてちまちま飲んでます。試しに１錠だけ飲み続けてるけど１９時に飲んだら２１時めっちゃ眠い。どっかで「１回２錠」って見た気がするけどこの眠気なら１錠でもいけそう。（156cm41kgの女性の場合です）包丁がめんどくなってきてピルカット鋏購入したので地道に使ってみます
