Quality Product
Received this sooner than expected. It was well package and had no damage. I haven't used this yet, however, I am very please so far. It's solid and came with replacement hardware for those "just in case" repairs. I plan to put this press to good use this weekend and freeze some tortillas for the future. If product performance is poor, I will update review - but this item is so simple to use, if the tortillas don't come out well, it's probably my fault and not the press LOL.

Simply the best
Excellent tortilla press. The press is heavy, as all cast iron is, and durable. I'm impressed with the value. I had an aluminum one before this and always thought it was too flimsy for the job. I chose the 9.84" version because I was being cheap - it had been marked down at the time I ordered it so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. It makes the perfect sized tortillas. I didn't use the parchment paper rounds included with it because I think plastic works better. I discovered by lifting the top of the plastic after pressing, the tortilla literally peels itself off the plastic. It didn't work as easily using the parchment paper but it was worth the experiment. Plus the plastic is a simple rinse and reuse. Can't do that with paper. The thickness of the tortillas was awesome. If folks follow the instructions that come with the press, thinness isn't a problem. I popped them on my Hexclad frying pan as I made them so I was done with twenty tortillas almost as fast as I could press them out.

Why would I ever buy tortillas again?
After getting this, I have no reason to ever buy store bought tortillas again. Five simple ingredients was all it took. It comes with some round parchment paper which makes it even easier. A quick press with this and a quick cook on a griddle. So easy and they taste so much better than store bought and they were cheaper too.

Fantastic, thin flour and corn tortillas
This is a fantastic tortilla press for both corn and flour tortillas! For those saying that it does not press their flour tortillas thin enough, you have missed such a simple reason (don't feel badly, I missed it too until a kind baker pointed it out to me in a social media post). The secret? For flour tortillas, you have to use the press while it is hot! This is why the thing is cast iron. Put it on your stove burner and turn it on medium high heat. Do not use the wax paper rounds. Just lightly brush oil on the top and bottom plates and close it. Once hot, Use an oven mitt to open it, put your dough ball in the center, and press for no more than 3 seconds (it comes out too thin - we are talking tissue paper thin - if you press any longer!).For optimal speed, transfer to a separate pan to finish cooking, but know that it cooks fast - 20 seconds per side.I can make 24 flour tortillas in under 20 minutes: my limiting speed at the moment is the number I can cook on my griddle at one time; not the press. For corn tortillas, use the wax paper circles and a cold press. Do not press with all your strength: corn falls apart if you get it too thin.

Defective Product
I finally got this out to use for the first time. The cast iron cracked and broke on the first use. I was able to press two tortillas before I heard a loud crack, and it came apart. Very disappointed and will not buy again.

Not ideal for flour tortillas
Overall not a bad tortilla press but did not keep. Nice heavy duty cast iron. Simple to use. But it doesn't press flour tortillas thin enough it's more a Naan thickness. Corn tortillas it did press a more desirable thickness but we rarely make corn tortillas and purchased to same time from hand rolling fresh flour tortillas several times a week.

Works nicely
I have used several times and have been pleased with the results each time. The press seems well built and strong constructed.
