anyone use these on leather? (I need to close a broken leather purse)

I actually just tried this the other day. It worked for about 2 min, lol. So no, it definitely won't work :-). They work awesome for other things though!

is it difficult to peel off?

Peeling the backing off was exceptionally difficult. I ended up getting a razor / exacto knife and lightly cutting the backing, then sliding the razor under the backing the peel it off. I recommend peeling further down the strip than you need, cutting, and then reattaching the backing with some trailing off the end. That makes it a lot easier on subsequent peels.

Wanting to know if anyone has used this in an exterior application? Removed BedRug in my truck and need to replace Velcro to reinstall in new truck.

I've used it on the interior of my car and it does not work well if there is any weight on it. The sun heats up the interior of the car in the summer and it causes the Velcro to come off.
