The Year-Round Hoophouse: Polytunnels for All Seasons and All Climates

Very detailed book packed with alot of useful information. However the pictures are all in black and white except for 4 pages (between pages 182 and 183) Since this is a farming book with information on crops and diseases and planting schedules and inter cropping, and there are pictures being referred to on every page, the pictures should be in color so that the reader is easily able to see the crops being referred to at the various stages. Showing a black and white photo of lettuce for example with a pest infestation is useless to the reader.

Its a great help, abundant in information. Breaks everything down. Reads like a college book.

Someday I will have a hoophouse. Maybe this fall.But I heard Pam Dawling speak at a Mother Earth News Fair and knew that I'd like this book. The book is easy to read but contains so much information. Which lettuce does best by month? It's in there. how to deal with nematodes? It's in there.I will be referring to this book for years. And maybe I'll have a hoophouse.

Well worth the money. Wealth of knowledge packed in and perfect for the novice hoop owner.

The concepts are for larger scale and advanced construction experience. Not the simple designs for most people.

Complete and concise at the same time. Pam covers all aspects from tunnel types to crops and crop timing. This is a great resource especially for market farmers. My copy is bookmarked and dog eared.

The recipient was very pleased with it and told me that although he does know a lot about how to use polytunnels (UK name) he has learned a lot more with this book.

All pictures and images are black and white (apart from 4 double pages in the centre) which I found frustrating.
