Radiation as cancer treatment creates burns which turn tissue to a bloody, raw, and painful mess. The radiation centerhad prescribed Silvadene, which will cause the skin to peel and promotes healing. My son, a physical therapist who has donea lot of wound debridement, gave me therapeutic grade Eucerin to use for moisturing. I was doing the recommendedregimen and making little progress toward actual healing, which I'd been told would take a very long time. And then a friendgifted me with Boiron Calendula Gel, and the real healing began. My radiation oncologist, the RNs and the radiation technicianscould not believe how rapidly I healed from the 6.5 weeks of daily radiation. It's always nice to heal quickly, but in my case, the affected area was large and included the whole 'sitting on saddle' area,with continual irritation by necessary eliminations, and that made the miracle of this product triply or quadruply appreciated.I'm reviewing for Amazon as a buyer due to replacing the original tube. Initially, I was a little nervous to try this gel because I feared it would sting on burn when first applied to such raw situation.It doesn't. It's soothing and dries fairly quickly. I found no negatives about using it and am grateful to Boiron for creating it, asI did try Jurlique's version and had bad reaction. {I love Jurlique products and imagine this was an idiosyncratic reaction, perhapswith that product not being intended for such a 'clinical' situation) When day comes that I have a friend going through radiation, you can be certain I'll be 'paying it forward' with Boiron Calendula Gel.

This gel/cream works so fast for speeding up bruises, scrapes scars. Also cools off burns. For open cut I put directly on cut, put on bandaid, next day cut was closed! A MUST FOR EVERY FIRST AID KIT!

My dog gets a constant rash on his belly and I put this product on at night to sooth his hot spots/ rash. Great healing agent and he tolerates it without licking it off.I've used this myself on cuts and scrapes and it's good. Does not sting and it not sticky.

Well, I think I've covered every body here, because it is even effective on rough cuticles and similar skin disruptions... if I had eczema I'm sure I'd try it out on that. So, got cuts, hurts or wounds? Here's your remedy. First, stop any bleeding. Clean your hands, then your wound. Apply Calendula. It may feel a little sticky to you at first, but that doesn't last long. The gel is mostly for the rashes and burns, or small cuts. If you need Calendula for under a band aid, or use it instead of a band aid like I do, use the ointment form of Calendula. It seals the cut tight and keeps dirt out of the wound. I have had cuts heal in two days instead of ten. Honestly. Since we're all trying to get away from the anti-bacterial and anti-microbial, it's great to have something that is all natural and doesn't have added chemicals to it. I do hope that Boiron doesn't decide to change formula or sell to another company who has profit on their mind instead of quality, because the quality of this product is awesome. If they begin to add more ingredients, I'll be disappointed. Obviously, I use it often and highly recommend to all.

I love this gel. It is very thin, almost watery, which makes it excellent for the rash I have on my scalp. The gel cools the rash and stops the itching. It also helps for some insect bites. It makes no stains on clothing or bedding, the only thing is that the price has gone up seriously since I bought it last. If it goes up yet more I will have to find something else.

My doctor told me to take my nose piercing out when a large cyst-like keloid formed in visible sight on my nose. I refused because I had just paid $50 for it to be pierced!! I'm all about homeopathic remedies. I did some research on products to get rid of keloids on piercings and found this. This product got rid of my keloid. My keloid was large and gross. And this gel healed it all!!! My piercing looks amazing. The good thing about this gel is that I've kept it, Its 2013 and I ordered it in 2011. It still works. I used it for my nose piercing whenever it decides to get irritated, which it does a lot. This Calendula Gel is my go-to product. And it works every time!! Without this i would not have a nose piercing. GET THIS PRODUCT. Seriously. You will love it. It smells good too.

Nice to switch out with the topical steroids for eczema on hands and feet. Goes on smooth and cool even with the alcohol base; doesn't hurt even when I get it close to the cuts. I also bought the ointment and cream from Boiron for different times of day/situations; so far the ointment suits my active lifestyle the best but I use the gel when I need a quick application that will go on clear and dry fast. I work in healthcare so I am exceptionally skeptical of homeopathic mumbo-jumbo. Calendula has some solid research backing up its topical use and my own results have been pleasing.
