Go ahead and buy this one - you will love it!
We purchased and installed this system last summer in a detached garage (about 940 sq feet). While the garage and second story above is well insulated and finished, the 16 foot garage door is not. We were worried that the door would allow too much heat that might overcome the mini-split (one zone on the ground floor, one on the second story). The seller was GREAT. Shipping was arrange and managed through a delivery company. The unit arrived quickly, was well packaged, and was exactly as described / pictured. Also, after I ordered, inquired about WiFi adapter, and the Seller even included them (which are propriety USB dongles) after the sale for no additional fee!Our installer was able to look through the installation manuals and run the system by himself in about 7 hours, which included the electrical work. He is a licensed electrical, has some HVAC training and installed quite a variety of systems over the years, and did a great job. I would NOT recommend trying to handle this without some expert assistance unless you have both the electrical and HVAC experience. Preparing the flare ends to shorten the condensing cables without losing the refrigerant is difficult, and leaks are expensive and difficult to diagnose. We figured, we are getting a great deal on the system, so let's pay someone who knows how to install it put it for us. We obtain quotes from two HVAC companies on mini-splits for the space, both were in excess of $8k installed. We paid $1,500 for installation, including running the electrical line to the unit from the breaker box. If you use a professional, I believe you can also obtain the extended warranty on the system (do your research on this part). The system works perfectly! Between the two air handlers, they keep the garage at 72 degrees during the summer and 68 during the winter easily, and will go well beyond quickly. The condenser unit is super quite (you cannot even hear it running from inside, and have to be standing next to it to hear it outside). Our electric bills barely budged - based on prior bills, it costs less than $30 a month to run this unit in the heat of summer (and it is rarely below 90 deg. here in the summer). The remotes are easy and the two air handlers are well-designed. Was able to plug in the WiFi adapters and set up the iOS app in just a few minutes - work like charm, never any glitches. The filters in the air handlers are easy to remove and clean, as well. Even when we open the garage door and leave it open for a while, the unit easily recovers and cools the area back down. You must have the remotes to operate the units (no handler controls), but you can also use your mobile app if the battery dies... you would not want to misplace one of the remotes, though. So, almost one year in, and very happy. So as the title says, go ahead and buy this system. You will not be disappointed.

Sellers description is not completely accurate
WARNING TO BUYERS this system is highly recommended however I have spent weeks dealing with Amazon bonterra the seller and Cooper Hunter the manufacturer, the seller site on Amazon shows every indication that this is a easy to install fully charged unit which is true however what is not stated is that IF NOT INSTALLED BY A LICENSED TECHNICIAN WARRANTY IS VOIDED, the seller's site fails to point this out. After installation the units did not adequately cool nor heat and HVAC company was called in and found that it did not have adequate freon as per the sellers description, after the system was vacuumed out and Freon replaced to its adequate levels there was an increase in cooling and heating temperature at the units but never reached what the manufacturer specifications say it should be at, SO BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING BUYING THIS UNIT FROM BONTERRA

Units are very noisy
I like the concept but Should have gone with a different brand. These are very noisy. This is our first winter with these. The house is warm. We replaced an oil furnace with these. Our electric bill has increased by almost $200 per month but we don’t have to buy oil.

If you can't pump the unit down yourself hire this job out.
Use two Cooper hunters minis on my houseboat. Replaced noisy roof units. They do an excellent job. They are easy to install. Just have a friend in the HVAC business or hire it out on the pump down. Would buy again. Don't waste money on Pioneer. Education cost.

Installed in new addition
We installed dual heads in our new addition. Super easy to install. Look great, heat and cool great. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is learning the controls is a learning curve. So many buttons and options on the remote. Would be easier if it was simplified.

Terrible performance
After installation by a Heating/Cooling professional, does not provide adequate cooling. Using a lazer temp gun, the coldest air that will come out of these units is 60 degrees Fahrenheit. I wish I would have not wasted my money on this system and just went with a regular air conditioner and ducting during my new house build. I made a terrible choice thinking this system would provide air conditioning to my home, which is only 1500 square feet.
