Is this the corky foam type tape? Or more like the plasticy glossy tape?

Corky like tape a bit of stretch and good feel for the money. I would buy it again.

Will it leave behind an adhesive residue if removed?

I haven't removed mine but I don't think it would. When putting it on the adhesive didn't seam that strong. Wrapping it tight with just a little bit of adhesive is what keeps it in place.
