Teavivre® Fengqing Dragon Pearl Black Tea Loose Leaf Chinese Black Tea - 3.5oz / 100g

This is some of the best Dragon Pearl Black Tea I've tried. It steeps up to a beautiful amber color and the taste is divine. But then I would expect nothing less from Teavivre. I've never had a tea from them that I haven't enjoyed.

The "Instructions " say to use three of the pearls for a cup. The tea is not strong enough for me like that so I use four. The tea is very clean with most of the content nice leaves while a couple of sticks always float to the top. The color of the brewed tea is light brown, not dark so even at four pearls it is still not very strong. The flavor is mild as is the caffeine level. The pearls are nice to handle and look good in the cup before adding hot water.

I have never had this tea before so I had no expectations. The tea arrived and was nicely packaged. I boiled up some filtered water and added 2 pearls to a 16Oz mug. I was way cool to see the ball come alive and see the huge tea leaves open up. I let this steep for about 8 minutes and it turned a beautiful dark amber. The taste was impressive. Very smooth, no bitterness at all. No need to add any sugar to this blend. this had a great aroma, an almost sweetness to it. This will become my breakfast tea and quite possibly my early evening tea as well.

Not much. They are crumbly. I don't know if it was this batch but there was no beautiful unfurling of tea leaves. Very disappointed.
