When I was younger I cared little for putting a lot of effort in skin care. I was a young, athletic equestrian and naturally very attractive, just ask the men who tried their best to win my heart as well as the husband who finally did. Much later I noticed another older, familiar woman staring back at me in the mirror and realized that, although no longer physically, athletically able on the outside to join the fox hunt, on the inside I felt completely confident and had no intention of watching the woman in the mirror age while my inner woman quietly condones times cruelty. I want to enjoy my youth as much as possible and when I look good, I feel good. I set out on an entirely different hunt. After trying many other products that may have worked for others but not for me, I read that Scarlet Johansson had developed a line of skin care products and the reviews were excellent. I did some research and learned more about her skin care products, The Outset and ordered the sampler pack. The Outset skin care line is exactly what I was looking for and works great for me. Their products last for months and the results are outstanding. The Outset Firming Vegan Collagen Prep Serum is a standout in my skincare routine. It absorbs effortlessly and leaves my skin feeling firmer and revitalized. For optimal results, I use it after cleansing with The Outset Gentle Micellar Antioxidant Cleanser and before The Outset Exfoliating Caffeine Micro Polish. As Helen Mirren wisely said, “Aging is not lost youth but a new stage of opportunity and strength.” This serum helps embrace that opportunity by keeping my skin looking youthful and refreshed. I love this stuff, my only complaint is a lot gets wasted at the end because the pump doesn't reach the bottom. If you swirl it around you can sometimes get a bit more but typically 1/5th gets wasted. I use this stuff after using a mild toner on my face. I can wear this under makeup no problem. I usually put CeraVe moisturizer on top, then Charlotte Tillsbury Magic cream/primer before makeup and do not have any issues with flaking or peeling. This product seems to work well with others without causing other products to break down. I also use this before putting on a heavy night cream. For me, this is a staple in my daily and nightly routines, I just want a better bottle/pump.

I recently answered a question for someone who asked if The Outset is for older women. I will be 75 next month. Like many women my age, I have tried countless skin care lines over the years, ranging in price from moderate to ridiculous. There is nothing I've used that is as effective as or makes me as happy as The Outset. After cleansing my skin, I use the prep serum, the vitamin C eye cream, the squalane daily moisturizer, and the face oil, in that order and only at night before bed. My skin is beautiful, probably for the first time since I was sixteen. I had become so fed up with wasting money on products that promise miracles for women my age and deliver nothing. I have not been disappointed by Scarlett Johansson's line; it is worth every penny and is now, with very few exceptions, the only line of skin care I will use. She doesn't make wild promises, and I appreciate that; she tells you how to use the products and what you can expect. She and her partner spent years developing this line. I recommend starting with the serum and the moisturizer if you're hesitant to invest in multiple products. The Amazon prices aren't much lower than other vendors for this line, but you can try the products and return them if you're not happy. Seriously, I could see and feel the difference by the second day. It will not erase the wrinkles we've earned, but it does smooth fine lines and has dramatically improved the texture of my skin over the past month. In addition to The Outset, I use Dr. Kaplan's Diamond Contour 1 Minute Daily Facial morning and evening (another product I will never be without as long as I can afford it). We deserve to be beautiful at any age.

I really like this serum. Someone used it on me at Sephora during a demo because I discussed My concerns with redness (rosacea) and aging. This product feels nice going on and absorbs well into skin. I’ve been using it for about a month with the other the outset products. The only downside is that the serum hasn’t lasted as long as the cleanser, day and night moisturizers and I already Need more
