Great price and beautiful books! Perfect gift for the JRR Tolkien fan!

Gorgeous, prettier than pictured. I would only note that if you buy these books individually, they have reinforced binding, but the ones in this set DO NOT, and the binding is not going to last. I have read through them once with no issue, but I'm also one of "those" readers that is quite particular about how I handle my books.

The books are small, I wouldn’t say pocket sized but maybe a little bigger than the average size hand.I haven’t read them yet as I just got them but I’m very excited with this find.

Outstanding! The stories are classic and the books are just beautiful and well bound to boot. The text size is fine for reading, unlike the tiny font size of "The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings: Deluxe Pocket Boxed Set". (nice books, but the font was so small I couldn't imagine actually reading them. The Tolkien Treasury, on the other hand is totally readable and I like that they're not just the stories (and poems), but they include lots of commentary, notes and appendices. They just feel good in my hands, look good to the eye, and read well. I've been getting interested in binding lately, too and I've seen reviews that call the binding "OK", but to this novice they are solid! I broke them all in properly just to be sure not to "break the spine" and no problems. They open well, not too tight, and are Smyth sewn (of course), so they should last. Just very nice.

If you like Tolkien and his wider corpus (only The Adventures of Tom Bombadil is related to LOTR), this is a fantastic set, beautifully printed. I received it as a gift, as my only other versions of Roverandom and Farmer Giles are lower quality and not as nice looking. These are books to enjoy both looking at and reading!

Nice books

Got this for my significant other who is a huge Tolkien fan! He's literally been reading everything Tolkien has written. He loves this set. I was anticipating more Tolkien pictures, but otherwise it is wonderful.They are smaller books, but definitely not tiny. I wish I had taken pictures before he took them home so you could see by comparison, but they're approximately 7" tall by 5" wide. Very happy with this purchase.

We purchased the anniversary pocket edition several years ago and both our kids look at it regularly (we've already read it aloud). I purchased to gift to my husband and kids who are JRR Tolkein fans (huge ones). They love it. I grew up reading his works and it's been fun sharing the joy with my husband and my kids <3
