An excellent smart watch
As an android Wear user for some time, I was a little sceptical switching to Samsung's Tizen OS, but I am genuinely so glad I did. The main reason I wanted to switch and try something new was the apalling battery life I was getting on my android watch. I was lucky to get a day with minimal usage, much less if I actually did anything like track a walk. Sleep tracking was also out of the question as I'd have no battery left for the following day and not enough time in the morning to give it enough charge. This Samsung watch is a revelation in comparison. Normally I turn it off overnight, and doing so it easily lasts a week. Even with it left on constantly and tracking sleep etc it goes for a minimum of 3 days, sometimes 4.My main reservation is the comparative lack of apps compared to android, but, to be honest, I mainly use my watches for notifications so this hasn't been an issue for me. Sure, there are fewer apps, so perhaps check first to see if the ones you use are available before buying. As for the watch itself, it's solidly built, stylish (especially with a good strap), the screen is excellent and it's fast and responsive. More importantly it just works. I've had no crashes or issues, and I find that the info it displays is more useful and relevant that what Android Wear showed. Its also easier to use and its features are more accessible, helped in no small part by the excellent rotating bezel. All in all I would definitely recommend this watch. I certainly won't be going back to android Wear anytime soon.

Excellent smartwatch from Samsung :-)
WATCH FEATURESI read a number of reviews where people had a lot of problems with compatibility issues, even between this watch and Samsung's own phones. It was frustrating to read all of that, especially when people decided to return their Samsung watches.Yes, it is NOT a 'UK version' as some gave it a 1-star review, but ... despite that, I liked it immediately, and me being ME, I had to find a solution for the above issues.(So, keep reading, as this might save you a time and nerves, looking for solving these issues, especially if you like this watch like I do.)It took me a few hours to work around some incompatibilities between Samsung Galaxy watch and my CAT S41 mobile phone. On my Samsung Galaxy watch, my messages and SMSs from my phone CAT S41 didn't work, so my work-around that obstacle was installing 'Handcent Next SMS' app for SMSs, Microsoft Outlook for emails, where I have my all 3 email accounts (GMX, Outlook & Gmail) and 'Notifications Wear for Gear' app for messages from Viber, WhatsApp and others, which you can use FREE for 100 notifications, and after that (if you want to keep on using it) you have to pay ยฃ2.39, which is what I did, because app is doing great job.BATTERY1st day - arrived charged at 72%. Went thru initial setting, pairing with my CAT S41 mobile phone, downloaded a few faces and apps, tried them (saved some, deleted some) ... and battery went down to roughly 30%. Put watch to charge overnight.2nd day - took off charging at 08:00 at 100%. Setting were ALL ON, so ALL notifications were on (emails, SMSs, Viber, WhatsApp). Downloaded, tested and deleted a number of watch faces and apps during the day.Charge at 20:00 was 60%, so I assume with above setting, watch battery would last possibly half of a next day with a night going low in consumption.3rd day - took off charging at 08:00 at 100%. Setting were again ALL ON, so ALL notifications were on (emails, SMSs, Viber, WhatsApp), but this time I haven't downloaded willingly any app. One app has been updated by itself on watch itself.Charge at 20:00 was 75%, so I assume that with ALL ON, but without downloading apps, this phone can easily last 2 days, maybe more. With ALL notifications OFF, this phone can last days on just watch, but ... that's not the point :-) ... If I have smart watch, I want to use all its features.CONCLUSIONI am very happy with my purchase, and with a little work-arounds some glitches/incompatibilites, I should be happily using Samsung Galaxy watch for sometime.=====TIP: NOTIFICATIONS PROBLEMSTEP 1: UNCHECK "show only while wearing watch" on mobile phone. STEP 2: Ensure that 'REMOTE CONNECTION' in the Galaxy Wearable app under Account and Backup > Remote Connections, is switched on.=====UPDATE 19 Nov 2019Love this watch ... it lasts 2 and half to 3 days, with display ON all the time, with all notifications (WhatsApp, emails, SMSs, etc). I read a few reviews that it is a Portugese watch. Personally, I am NOT bothered, as I don't want to use Samsung Pay :-)=====UPDATE 23 Feb 2020Still VERY happy with this watch. Battery lasts good 3 days. I would suggest to change original hand strap, if you have sensitive skin like myself. I've developed red rush, my skin was pealing off, ... so I've purchased pack of 3 different hand straps with HOLES in them, which let my skin exposed to air. No more skin problems ๐๐

Fantastic Smart Watch. Well build, great design, and very functional.
I have had many smart watched over the years. Started with the Michael Kors model, then Apple Watch, and just before owning the Samsung Galaxy watch I took the plunge and spend a small fortune on Tag Heuer Connected watch.I have to say at a 3rd of the cost of the Tag, the Samsung Galaxy. Is not only great value, but also a great watch. The build quality is second to none, with the rotating bezil feeling sturdy and well put together. Also works so well, with really intuitive menus. The battery life is awesome for a smart watch. With up to 7 days between charges, and this is with normal usage. If you choose to have the face on all the time and the heart monitor on constant monitoring, this is reduced to 3 days, which is still pretty good. And amazingly, if you put it in full battery saving mode, will actually last for nearly 25 days! You can never get bored of the this watch. With thousands of different faces to choose from, and straps. There are loads of ways you can make this watch as unique as you are. Also great for fitness. I enjoying kayaking and this watch is very robust, and also water proof. So no worries if you intend to go swimming or get this watch wet. Tracking for fitness is also very accurate, and up there with the likes of other smart watches. All in all this is a fantastically build smart watch. Which is really high-end, at a very reasonable price.

Good value
This is a fine watch with an excellent range of proper watch faces for people like me who want a watch to look like a watch . The fitness capabilities seem to be endless with far more than I will use , because I suffer with arthritis quite badly . To me it is most useful for monitoring heart rate , stress levels and sleep quality. Also the fact that there is a barometer is really useful because I can judge what kind of a day I will have ( re arthritis) . An annoyance for people who measure their steps Is the parameter used for counting stair climbs . The software classifies a standard stair as being 3 metres high , here in the uk a stair is usually 2.6 metres high , so the stair climbs don't register . Battery life is very good , the 46 being better than the 42 because it has a bigger battery. But of course the life is determined by how many apps and notifications you have active. I personally dont use so many so I can achieve up to 6 days on one charge . I happy with that
