I've been using this product for 10+ years off and on and it's something I always go back to. This was one of the first K-beauty moisturizers I bought when getting into brands made from outside of the US or Europe. This moisturizer is NOT heavy or thick. For drier skin types, this is a product that you may want to layer with other products or used as a last step to seal in your previous steps. For an oilier skin type, this could be your go-to moisturizer before sunscreen or used after a serum/treatment. This product heals and seals in moisture without being tacky. I can easily incorporate this into my routine, morning and night, even while using my prescription retinoid (tretinoin .025%) at night and actives (Vit. C serum) during the day that will sometimes make my skin more sensitive. I love the ingredient list starting with the soothing call outs like snail mucin, green tea, centella asiatica, etc. The list of anti-aging and reparative peptides are a real pleasant surprise aside from the indulgent amount of silicones used in this product that leaves a satin/velvet-like finish. Side note...anyone demonizing silicones tends to have a warped view on cosmetic chemistry in general. These people talking about how bad silicones are, are also the same people who will shout at the roof top about sustainability and only using "clean" ingredients in their routine that they themselves couldn't explain what clean actually is... "Clean" is a new and constantly changing term that was more of a marketing strategy to highlight natural ingredients that took a wild and elitist turn. Clean, though generally understood as "safe" to those moaning about what you can and can't have in products, is all relative to how clean is defined as to the place where you're shopping. What's clean at a Detox Market or Credo is not the same clean at Sephora or Ulta. Clean beauty is subjective meaning it's more opinion than fact. Even if you cant afford some rose oil thats been charged by a number of moons cycles blanketing those flower petals to create this elixir near a yurt out by Joshua Tree, that doesn't mean its anymore effective than your CeraVe serum that's been through constant and continuous testing to ensure that it's safe to mass produce at an accessible price. As for this product and price point, give it a try!!! You might be pleasantly surprised.

This is a classic K-beauty staple, one of the first things I tried way back when you had to buy K-beauty FROM KOREA. Snail mucin is great for skin healing and moisture and this is a simple formula that still comes through. It's a clear gel formula with a nice lightweight texture, just enough silicone for a nice slip and to hold in moisture. This is my go-to for angry skin, scrapes and cuts, or as a moisturizer when my skin is feeling weighed down. I love that it's fragrance free.

One week of use so far and I am in love with this stuff. Background: Due to hypothyroidism - INSANELY dry skin (understatement). I can use any and every product, serum, magic lotion, oil etc. and nothing has worked (for more than a couple days it seems) for my dry skin... like this has. My skin has only ever felt this soft (like baby skin) after doing a chemical face peel. Just using this stuff has done that! I cannot comprehend it. I read others say that wrinkles are diminishing and it sounds almost not possible...but I see some forehead wrinkles just fading & softening...probably just due to the fact that my skin is so much more hydrated and plumped! I will document progress with photos and upload them someday if visible results are there that I can share and attribute to this. Besides that, I don't know how this is possible but my under eye area is MUCH improved. I have had deep indentations, blue discoloration and bags, etc. and heavy dryness and texture issues (bumps). The bumpiness is hereditary and here to stay unless lasered or peeled off (ouch) but I don't care as long as the area is super hydrated and can handle some concealer, I am super happy. I will update this in a couple weeks so you know how it is going if interested. I am SUPER happy with this product - the price - and now I am obsessed with Korean products! Also, even my son (though afraid to try it) used some and loves how nice his skin feels. I also got another Korean product recently as I heard about it on Youtube, the SKINFOOD Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream #1 Blooming Light Beige (Whitening Care) 10g and it (along with the use of the Mizon Snail Gel has done miracles for my under eye area. The Skinfood corrector/concealer works incredibly well to cover bags and it is hydrating and I just can't say enough positive things about both of these products. Thanks Amazon!

I'm liking this stuff so far! I thought the snail aspect was weird, but went ahead and tried it. It doesnt really have a smell. The texture is very viscous and slippery. A little goes a long way, and you really only need a thin layer. I have oily, acne prone skin that is also very dry. I apply this once a day after I've showered and applied my BHA and AHA. I use it as a moisturizer. This stuff did not cause me to break out or cause any sensitivity, which is very, very nice. It seems to be very hydrating. My skin feels smooth all day when I use this, but it does not cause extra oil. In fact, it seems like my face is a bit less oily later in the day after I use this product. It doesn't leave a residue or weird feeling, and it absorbs quickly. I've only been using it for a couple of weeks, so the jury is still out on long term usage, but I'm liking it so far. My only complaint is that the tubes were not filled all the way (I'd say they were 70%full), which is lame, but still at $8 for 2 tubes it's a really good deal.

At 32 I had stubborn hormonal acne and dry flaky skin (thanks in part to the dry climate in Colorado) I was tired of constantly fighting my skin and embarked on a journey to get the clear youthful skin I deserved. I was pleased to find that the skin of my dreams in a Korean beauty inspired routine. The best part is that nearly all the products I tried were relatively inexpensive and readily available from amazon. My acne is non-existent now and the tone and texture of my skin is so supple and smooth. I have provided a list of my routine below which includes this product. I’m not saying this is the best or only way to achieve my results, I just thought others would be interested in what I used. *indicates review for this product AM- hydrating, lightweight, works under makeup Cleanser - BOOTS Botanics All Bright Gentle Cleansing Cream (purchased from Ulta for a fraction of the price $6.99) First Toner- Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater, 4 oz. – $7.00 - This is like a drink of water for your face. I love this stuff and will spray again randomly throughout the day whenever I need a refresher. The aroma is a little strong for my liking but (almost like perfume) but I’m willing to overlook since the rose and aloe does so much for my skin. I used to use just straight rose water which has a very present smell but I like the spray delivery of this product better. Moisturizing Toner- [Skin Food] Premium Avocado Rich Toner 180ml –$12.98 - I can’t say enough about this. It’s a nice thick toner much more substantial that the western watery toners I was used to. The smell of this is very bright and green (that’s the best way I can think of to explain it) I love the smell! Every now and then I will smell it on my face and it gives me an invigorating boost. This toner works well to moisturize and calm my skin and will certainly be re-purchasing. A little goes a long way with this stuff so that won’t be for quite some time! Treatment- Body Merry Hyaluronic Acid Serum for Anti-aging with Vitamic C and Natural Green Tea, 2 Oz – $13.99 - I use this during the day to keep my skin feeling hydrated and give my skin the boost of anti-oxidants to help combat ageing. This is a lightweight serum (which is why I use it under my makeup) but it does take some time to fully absorb in and dry on my skin. After I put this on I generally go and have breakfast before coming back to finish. The aroma leans more towards green tea which again I find refreshing for the morning. The syrup is a milky and slightly viscous with minimal stickiness. Eye Cream- Loreal Revitalift Eye Cream 0.5 Ounce (14ml) (14ml) – (Purchased from Ulta) * Face Cream- [MIZON] Snail Recovery Gel Cream 45ml (1.52 fl.oz.) Pack of 2 – $9.99/ 2-pack - Lightweight moisturizer which works perfectly under makeup. This product doesn’t’ have much of a smell. The consistency is unique halfway between a gel and a cream. Glides on smoothly and provides a decent amount of hydration when combines with my other hydrating products. I don’t like to use occlusive products during the day and this moisturizer fits the bill. PM-all about Snail- Repair, Hydrated, Moisturize Makeup Remover- Boots Botanics All Bright Soothing Eye Make-up Remover 5 oz. – Purchased at Ulta for a fraction of the price - $6.99 Double Cleanse - [Total 2Pcs] The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Oil + Foam SET –$14.21 - The oil cleanser feels light and silky. At night, I massage 1 pump into my skin and works well to dissolve the days make-up. Once I am done breaking down all the makeup, I use water to get some of it off before moving to the foam cleanser. My only complaint is that the fragrance is a little strong and can burn my eyes if I’m not careful. It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean. The foam cleanser works well to clean off the oil left on my face. The foam cleanser aroma is a lot more tolerable to me. It comes out of the tube a shimmery white color and is Very gentle. These two cleansers work well to get my face clean and ready for treatments without that typical tight feeling. They leave my skin soft and moisturized. Exfoliation - Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion & Peel System Microdermabrasion Treatment 1 Kit - $21.99 - one a week - I used to use philosophy's microderm kit but this one offers the same exact results for 1/2 of the price. This exfoliator leaves my skin feeling baby soft but it does seem a tad harsh so I don't like to use it too frequently. I love the fresh citrus smell of the crystals and the warming foaming action once you put on the activator. Since I only use this once a week it lasts for a VERY long time and is totally worth the price. Toner- [Skin Food] Premium Avocado Rich Toner 180ml –$12.98 I can’t say enough about this. Essence - [Cosrx] Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence 100ml – $15.85 - I only use this at night because it does leave bit of a film on my face which I find unpleasant under make up. It dries quickly and a single pump gives me enough to cover my whole face and neck. There is no smell to speak of but it does have a slimy snail-y texture ( it is 96% slime!) and can be a bit tacky once its all said and done. I have also used this on some iron burns to help it heal faster and minimize scaring with a lot of success. Treatment- MIZON Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule - Anti Wrinkle - Multi Function Formula - $11.43 - Anti Wrinkle - Multi Function Formula- Clear viscous liquid. Not nearly as slimy as the essence. No smell, absorbs quickly. I focus heavily on the snail products at night because I read that the copper peptides naturally contained in the snail can alter the effectiveness of the vitamin C and vice versa. Spot Treatment- [MIZON] Acence Blemish Out Pink Spot 30ml – $14.95 - Use only as needed – Works wonders to diminish blemishes overnight. I used this quite frequently when I first started but after a while using all these products I didn’t have any acne to speak of! Sheet Mask - Dermal Korea Collagen Essence Full Face Facial Mask Sheet, 16 Combo Pack – $10.40 - I use once a week. I know that sheet masks are the totally hot thing in Korean beauty but I don’t think they do much for me other than a relaxing home spa experience. I just don’t see that they provide much and probably will not be buying more. Eye Cream- MIZON Korean Cosmetics Snail Repair Eye Cream, 1 Ounce 1 Ounce – $13.98 - Light weight, absorbs quickly. The container is quite generous and a little will go a long way. I think I will have this for a while! It doesn’t have any smell. Face Cream- MIZON Black Snail All In One Cream, 2.40 Ounce –$10.49 - Like all of the Mizon Snail products I have tried this is a very easy introduction into the world of snail skin care. It has minimum smell and lightweight texture. Minimal slime factor, you wouldn’t even know it was snail in a blind comparison. It has a off white color and a lightweight consistency. It doesn’t work wall as an occlusive if that’s what you want you may need to add a different moisturizer at night. Face Oils- I use a mixture of two oils applied at once: Radha Beauty Rosehip Oil 4 oz - 100% Pure Cold Pressed Certified Organic . - $13.95 - and Radha Beauty Moroccan Argan Oil for Hair, Face & Skin 4 oz - USDA Organic 100% Pure Cold pressed Virgin Oil From Morocco - By Radha Beauty –$12.95 - I like to use the oils last because I feel like it really seals everything in and provides moisture to last me through the night. The rosehip oil is very yellow orange so I wouldn’t recommend using during the day abut I do sometimes mix the Argan oil in with my foundation if I want a dewier look.

This gel-cream gets a lot of reviews, some positive and it seems popular on your typical AB blogs, which seem to simply repeat what the better-known bloggers say. The product has a very long list of ingredients, starting with the Snail Secretion Filtrate, and going downhill from there. It includes silicone, which explains why so many like its smooth texture, and several preservatives. Some, like BHT and the pH adjuster Triethanol amine are knows for their poor safety records. it does feel good when applied, due to snail secretion and silicone. It is lightweight. It is true that this gel-cream absorbs quickly, skin feels smooth, though all day claims are not true. Unfortunately, it does not do much improve skin texture, "repair damaged skin or protect skin from the outside harmful factors". It is definitely one of those products that try to do too many things, while not doing any one of them particularly well. There are much better japanes products with hyaluronic acids, or korean products with green tea or centella etc. Most of those are far down the ingredients list, which most likely means that the amounts are insignificant. Also, the tube is very inconvenient for the particular consistency of gel-cream When you squeeze the tube, either nothing comes out, or the goop comes out in big spurts. If you are looking for an alternative to your usual foundation base, then it might work for you in that limited capacity. If you want a product that will deliver everything (or something) that this gel-cream claims to deliver, you are better off researching other AB products. Many good and reasonably priced korean/japanese products are so popular now that they are becoming more and more available online and in stores like amazon, target, even walmart etc.

While I have only use this product for about 4 weeks now oh, it is the perfect and moisturizer. I use this over my vitamin C serum and then I will use this the next day alternating with my glycolic acid serum in the morning on top. It is a very light very gel-like consistency. No scent. No irritants. I have not broken out as of yet so that is a very rare thing these days! I will continue to purchase this and hopefully I will see more results as time moves on! The ingredients are a dream! I use a very strict skin care regimen that consists of a lot of actives as well as Retin-A or Tretinoin cream. I have found this to be very soothing and very calming to my very fragile face. It does not feel sticky oh, it doesn't smell, it just feels like pure H2O in a gel form that quickly absorbed into the Skin Within minutes. Just be careful if you are sensitive to any of the ingredients in to always double-check the ingredients list for any possible irritants. I also use the Cosrx snail mucin 96 Power essence and I believe that they have both helped with my skin tone, pores, and all around brightness. I cannot say for sure if they have helped with my acne because I do not have any as of right now thanks to my tretinoin. It is a lovely am moisturizer and goes fantastic with other actives! I will keep this in my skin care regimen as long as it does not randomly break me out fingers crossed!

Mizon Snail Recovery Gel is the perfect way to finish off a morning skincare regiment. I received this just under a month ago and have been very pleased with the results. It arrived quickly and in a simple bottle. It is easy to access and clearly labeled. The gel itself has the consistency of petroleum jelly and is clear. It has no detectable scent. I use about a dime size to easily cover my entire face and neck. It glides on smoothly and absorbs quickly. One of my favorite things about it is that it helps the previous products I’ve put on absorb to a matte finish so I can apply my sunscreen and makeup within a minute or two. This is great on days when I’m in a hurry and don’t have 20 minutes to let my other products sink in. It is very lightweight as well. I have noticed that the fine lines in my forehead and around my eyes specifically are less prominent from using this product and that my skin is overall much smoother and softer. My foundation goes on flawlessly now and I barely have to use it because of how clear my skin is. I occasionally rub some Mizon Snail Recovery Gel on my hands and elbows on days I am super dry and regular lotion isn’t helping. Overall, I am very happy with this product and plan to keep it a part of my daily routine.
