Great idea! Durable and functional with easy installation and improved peace of mind!
We installed these over our newly rebuilt front stairway right before the winter season and they worked out really well in the light snow and ice that we get occasionally in the PNW, not to mention the constant rain that makes the painted wood slippery. The installation over wood stairs was really easy and solid, but with 7 steps to cover, the cost was a bit steep. Of course the peace of mind for improved safety for the kids, grandparents and visitors is really worth it. The nosing design should also slow down the wear and tear on the steps and reduce the overall upkeep as the original wood steps showed extreme wear on the edges. We got the black version which came with matching hardware, but one of the packages was missing the screws. There are 9 screw holes available for installation, but I found that each could be quite secure with about 6 or so screws, so there was enough hardware for the entire project. The treads themselves are made of rigid, thick aluminum with pencil-eraser sized raised bumps, a grippy edge and textured powder coated paint. They measure 29 3/4" long, 2 3/4" wide across the top and with a 1" lower lip. They were all uniform in appearance and measurements. After a few weeks of use, there's no evidence of wear on the treads, but only time will tell how the powder coated finish stands up to time and nature. I sure hope this these will last the life of the stairs. The only thing to note is that the stair edge provides a great grip with some raised metal projections, but if you stumble going up the stairs, as my toddler has done on a few occasions, you may find your shins painfully banged up by that hard metal edge.Overall, I am happy with the product and the improved security of the stairs.

High quality
Great product! Installed very easily on my wood steps and added great traction and defined the edge of the step well! I love the textured finish. I would recommend getting longer screws for softer wood steps because the color matched screws that are included are 3/4”.

Boosts your confidence big time!!
I bought the aluminum natural colored treads to install on two concrete steps that go down from the garage to the back yard. These steps are in shade most of the winter and tend to get black ice on them that is pretty much invisible and has almost taken my life a couple times. I glued them using some loctite general construction adhesive because I didn't want to use masonry bits to drill and screw into the steps. They are holding incredibly strong and are a huge boost in confidence when you step out onto that first step. I have had black ice on the steps and the treads are working perfectly, zero slippage. Even more, and an added bonus is that when it's pitch dark out at night, the treads reflect the night sky and I can see exactly where the two steps are. Incredible product and if I had some slippery or dangerous wood steps I would not hesitate on putting them on each step. Thank you Handi-Treads!

Pricey but cheaper than a broken leg. They will definately keep your foot on the stair tread.
They are a bit expensive, but so is breaking a leg or arm slipping down some stairs. They are sturdy and fairly heavy considering they are aluminum. They also protect the stair edge from bowling with wear as well as being nice and secure to the soles of my shoes. They mounted with an impact driver in about 2 min for each step in the dark and rain. I also ordered grip tape for the remainder of the stair tread, but I cant install them in the rain; in fact, I may just skip them entirely with the success I've had with these. So whey do I need them... Well, I dont, but my sister does. Anyone that has painted wooden stairs knows how unsafe they are when they get wet, let alone when they get snow on them. Having almost killed myself half a dozen times every winter, I decided to give a functional gift of safety.

Adds Safety and Attractiveness!
Added needed safety to my weathered steps. Very sturdy and protects the edge of the step while providing a very sure grip. Easy to install and attractive. I like the few I purchased that I purchased more to add to another set of steps.

Everything I was hoping they'd be
I live in a wet area, and I have pressure treated wood steps...14 of them to the main entrance to the house. Contractors, delivery people and general use start to erode the wood. And when it's dark, it's harder to see the edge of each step, and the edges can get slick...obviously why I was looking for something like this. These were the best things I found, and I'm glad I bought them every time I use the stairs. Installation wasn't too bad...cordless screwdriver/drill and a tape measure to make them even. Had them on for a couple weeks. I'll add an edit if anything changes.

Perfect for what I needed
Handi-Treads Non-slip Tread Nosing, Aluminum Mill Finish Silver, 2.75" x 30"I needed more traction on the stock F-150 plastic side steps. These worked perfectly. I used 3M double-Sided tape as well as the provided screws. This Handi-Tread offers the best traction no matter the weather conditions. Plus I like that they will not rust. They give a nice clean durable industrial look to my 2016 XLT FX4 Off Road 2dr truck. Couldn't be happier. I love when I find the perfect part for the job!

AMAZING!
I needed these for wooden steps that my Dad coated in some sort of oil. I gotta tell you when damp they were more than a little slick! I do wish these came in shorter sizes....however, I cut these in half and placed in the center of the stairs....they work perfectly!! Love them!
