Big enough for 40-something eyes, compact enough to take anywhere!
I bought this device after having some issues reading text on my RG 35XX-H. This device is larger with a slightly different shape and button layout. The internal 'guts' are identical. Overall, I have had a blast with this device. It is comfortable to hold, easy to read, and capable of playing most of the old roms I have tried on it. I installed Knulli on the device, and have been extremely happy with the overall value presented by the device. The buttons are firm and clicky, and the overall device feels well-built. The system does ship with a sample ROM collection, but I recommend you back that content up and save the original card somewhere while you experiment with the device. I have had a lot of fun with this device, playing for hours on end with no issues.

Generally good performance, lightweight, vivid screen, mini hdmi to monitor/tv
This is for "Anbernic RG40XX H Retro Handheld Game Console with 4.0-in 640*480 IPS Screen, 64G TF Card, 5000+ Classic Games, Linux System, Support 5G WiFi Bluetooth HD Output Blue"Price at review time: $75.99Anbernic RG40XX weighs 7.2 ounces. Anbernic RG40XX has a matte finish shell with a slight sanded/powdery feel to the touch. Quiet face buttons and d-pad. L2/R2 and pressing down the two joysticks are the loudest buttons. Bluetooth mainly works for earbuds and headphones. Wired controllers and wireless with 2.4ghz dongle work when used with usb-c hub connected to usb-c port next to mini-hdmi. For correct controller button assignments, need to use "button configuration" in settings. When connected to a TV or monitor, Anbernic RG40XX does not have any settings to adjust aspect ratio, have to use TV or monitor aspect ratio options. For the vertical orientation games (Vertical Arcade in Game Rooms menu or VARCADE in RA Game menu) rotate console to right 90 degrees. Console adjusts the right joystick and right buttons to work in this configuration, whether using the console monitor or external monitor.Settings > LED settings adjusts the joystick lights (off, solid, or various themes)Runtime from full charge is around four to five hours. runs smoothly
I got this game console, and it’s exactly what I was looking for. It comes with a wide variety of emulators like GBA and PSP, which lets me play all my favorite classic games. The system runs smoothly, and switching between games is fast and easy. I’m impressed by how many titles are supported without any extra setup. The controls feel solid, and the screen quality is great for retro games. it’s a fantastic choice for anyone who loves old-school gaming.

Pretty cool, cannot open some of the pre-loaded games.
It is alright as far as handhelds go, it does have a lot of games loaded onto it and the joysticks lighting up is pretty cool, it is neat that I can play games from when I was a kid as well, however some games will not open. These are games I was actually excited to see and, I thought I'd be able to play but I cannot even get to the opening screen of the games before the system exits on its own. For the cost, I expected a better system...

Good Emulation Device, Solid Color
RG40XX H Retro Handheld Game Console, 3200mAh Portable Video Gaming Console with 4.0-in 640*480 IPS Screen, 64G TF Card, 5000+ Classic Games, Linux System, Support 5G WiFi Bluetooth HD Output-BlackSo Anbernic has hit another one out of the park with this one. The RG40xxH is a solid entry into their H700 models. The build quality is solid and has a decent screen quality. I wish the resolution was a bit better but for 40 year old eyes, I could see it just fine. The buttons are really responsive and functional. The included game card includes a good game variety and there are ways to get additional ROMs for your gaming console.Honestly if you are picking this up use the Retroarch for gaming, not the Game Rooms (you'll find more games there as well). It also has PICO-8 support and Portmaster. I would recommend honestly switching from the stock Anbernic OS over to the Rocknix OS (it is a real easy swap).Great little device with solid build quality and here you can get it for a decent value for the money and quick shipping.

Great retro handheld gaming device
Great little retro emulation device. It's an Anbernic, as you likely already surmised. Good for anything up to PS1, including some NDS (provided you don't need dual displays or a touchscreen), N64, DreamCast, and PSP, with varying performance depending on the title. The screen and size are excellent, and honestly the stock firmware is fine. I don't feel any need to use custom firmware for these but you have several great options if you like to tinker.
