Good value, recommend a third-party portafilter and basket.
Overall the machine is good value for the price. It's basically the same as the ECP3420, but with a metal cover. The included portafilter and presurized baskets should immediately be replaced with a bottomless portafilter and a good basket (the ones included allow you to use pre-ground coffee and still get "fake" crema). This will give much better results if you freshly grind you coffee from beans, and will also be much easier to clean.NOTE - The portafilter has 2 "ears" (see the pictures attached)! Some images incorrectly show a 3-ear portafilter, and searching for accessories for ECP3630 and ECP3420 will also show 3-ear portafilters, but those WILL NOT FIT. Take care. The basket size is 51mm.It's fully manual, with no pressure display or timer, so you will want to get some scales to measure the output to ensure you get consistent results. If you do this you can make some excellent espresso/latte.Not a lot of clearance under the group head, so go for a "nano" scales unless you use a small cup/glass.The panerello steam wand makes it hard to steam milk accurately for latte art. You can remove the outer cover (use a cable-tie to keep the inner silicone tip on), which helps, but a straight steam wand would have been better.
