Dorman 599-007 Front Climate Control Module Compatible with Select Cadillac/Chevrolet/GMC Models

So I'm easy to please, but this thing disappointed. First one of the knobs where broke, second the blower switch only worked in 1 setting. Took it apart to use my old switch and it has a longer stem. So I removed the long stem that came with this module and put it on my original switch which i was able to make work. BUT this is what made me mad when I took the new switch apart it came with. It looked like an old broken switch. Pic is attached.I got it working as it should, but shouldn't have to work this hard for a plug n play solution.

I returned the 1st one that I bought. I hi output was the only one of the 4 setting that worked on this part. I noticed before I installed the part that a couple of the prongs were bent which had to be straightened before I could plug in the wiring harness. So I thought that maybe it was damaged. I had purchased a warranty with the part so it was replaced with new one in a couple days. I checked the prongs to make sure they were not bent before I installed the part. The blower output only worked on the hi setting like the 1st one did. That's why the rating is a 3. At this point I don't really know what to do about it. It does blow heat on hi, and the rest of the part seems to work as it should. Next time I'll buy one much cheaper.

I replaced one in my 97 k1500 that was only 6 months old before it stopped working so I’m hoping the Dorman brand holds up. This was $30 more so I’m hoping I get what I pay for.

After many Youtube how-to articles on how to replace the temp control unit, it seemed to be a pretty easy fix... so I ordered the unit and it went in perfect. Fits exactly to the same slots as the original. Knob indicator clicks work very good. Much better than the original. Clean OEM style looks like it was when new.The worst part is getting the dash assembly out of the way so you can work on getting it in place.

Plugged in perfectly. Old plastic was brittle and difficult. Managed to get it done without breaking anything. I would buy again.

Snagged this on sale for $80ish. Looks a bit different than the original, seems cheaper. But for $80 vs $200+ it's totally worth it. My old one wouldn't switch the vents and I replaced it with this about a month ago and it's been working like it should ever since.
