Great value
My mum bought these for herself as she is blind in 1 eye but still loves to hear a good book or play. I borrowed these off her. Have only listened to the first one but definitely worth the money.

Mislabelled discs
A quick guide to the mislabelling of the discs rightly noted by an earlier reviewer. The problems begin with disc 11, entitled Still Life. In fact, the play occupies only tracks 1-15. The rest - from 16 to 26 - are actually the first part of Present Laughter, the continuation of which occupies the whole of disc 12.Disc 13, mislabelled as comprising the second & concluding part of Present Laughter plus Meridian, a 1999 BBC World Service profile, in reality is comprised of Meridian (tracks 1-8), while the rest (9-18) of the disc is occupied by the first of three 1996 BBC R4 programmes featuring extracts from Coward's voluminous diaries. The 14th and final disc in the set is correctly labelled & carries the second and third of this series.

Comprehensive
Bought as a Christmas gift for teenage daughter. There's a play/performance within this collection for everyone. Just brilliant.

Check before you order
Really good quality but two disc were mixed up the story of the present laughter was mixed up first one was on the disk marked the still life and the second half was labelled on the disc the should of been the first part of the story so it was confusing so must remember this when I play it again but apart from that I enjoyed the other stories

Dated but very amusing
Sure, the Noel Coward plays are very 'old fashioned' but also quite listenable. I'd actually forgotten just how snobbish and silly the storylines are but you get what you asked for....I think the raised voices are a bit much for me really but on the whole, worth a listen.

Mixed blessings.....
I agree with M Dewey regarding the Blithe Spirit adaptation....also, for me, Private Lives suffers from two sadly miscast leads. On the Up side, the recording of Hay Fever is a delight, with Dame Judi and company delivering wonderfully.

6 perfect productions & 2 discs about the Master behind the scenes
The 2 discs about Noel Coward's life , including excerpts from his diaries (read by Simon Cadell) convey hisparticular kind of stylishness. This enables us to appreciate afresh the plays included in the Collection, chosenfrom the outstanding BBC radio productions of Coward's plays.
