Prestige Ultra is the best electric rotary shaver especially if you can get it at a low price.
The i9000 Prestige Ultra is pretty much exactly as advertised. Caught the Ultra on sale, still expensive but great value. I have a Series 7000 shaver, which is great shaver. The Prestige Ultra is a noticeable step up from the 7000. The battery lasts probably at least an hours worth of active shaving time. It lasts about as long as what you would expect from an electric razor. Have had about 7 shaves in the last two weeks and there is 30% battery remaining. I probably average 5-6 minutes per shave. I do wish it had more of a battery but that is only because I know it's possible. It's a super effective shaver that reduces shave time. It gives a super close shave, best I've had in 20 years using an electric shaver. It gives an almost baby smooth shave. Closely mimics or seemingly exceeds a blade razor. Not as maneuverable as a blade but is quite agile. I was apprehensive on some of the reviews about shaving the neck and under the nose. Once you use it I found it works just fine. No pulling on a 3 day beard. Working on going to 4 days but hate hair on my face and neck. Experimented with shaving dry, wet, soapy, pre-shave gels and lotions. Dry shaves are the most difficult but better than on the 7000. Just doesn't glide like older shavers but they don't shave as close. Wet shaves do much better for ease of movement. Soapy shaves are by far more comfortable, easier and reduces shave time. Pre-Shave gels and lotions are better than soapy, depending upon the one you use. I prefer the gel/cream type. Don't like an oily type of pre-shave. Initially setup the shaver using the Groomtribe app, which was very easy. LED Lights are a good telltale for various shave recommendations. You can also adjust the Custom setting. The charging stand works fine and the lights are a nice addition. It would be nice if the shaver and stand both had a USB-C port or at least include an adapter to connect via USB-C. Finally, cleaning the Prestige Ultra is super easy and quick. I religiously use the Quick Cleaning Pod. I always rinse the shaver with water after use and dry it off before placing in the cleaning pod. Cleaning Pod is great idea and works great. The cleaning pod is a good resting spot and it also cleans. Really hope the pod and shaver lasts a while.

Norelco's Best Shaver.
I have always been parrtial to high-end electric shavers. My first electric shaver was the Norelco 955rx in 1991. I used that shaver for five years before returning to the blade. I bought a Braun foil shaver when they came out with their cleaning system. Having enjoyed the convenience of that cleaning system, all of my succeeding shavers have had automatic cleaning and charging systems. In 2009, I bought a Panasonic with a cleaning system. This Panasonic lasted seven years, using the same foil and cutter block. I believe it lasted long because I used distilled water in the cleaning tank. I also sprayed lubricant on the shaver heads after each cleaning. The shaver was still working but it got lost during a relocation in 2017. I used a blade for two years before buying a Panasonic Arc with a cleaning system. This Arc model is still working well; however, the cartridges for the cleaning system is no longer easy to find. Panasonic switched to a more eco/green cleaning system. I decided to try the top end Norelco because it comes with a cleaning system. And that product is the subject of this review. One month of use and it is ready to be reviewed. This Norelco is the most luxurious shaver that I have ever owned. The unit comes with Bluetooth that can connect to the Groom Tribe app on your phone. The app "manages" your device. It tells you how well you shaved, how much charge is left, and when to change the cartridge in the cleaning pod. The shave is equal to the Panasonic's. The experience is true luxury. The shaver will signal when you are pressing too hard, or too light. The cleaning system is simpler than the units on the Panasonic and the Braun. The Norelco shaver provides the power to pump the cleaning fluid from the pod to the shaving heads. It is quick to clean, but it does take long for the razor heads to dry. The cleaning pod does not charge. You have to use the included charging stand. Overall, a true luxury product. Look, very few of us look forward to our morning routine to get ready for work. The grind. I say, make your morning enjoyable by using grooming products that you like. I don't want to oversell an electric shaver but this beauty can make the start of your day more enjoyable. You pick up the shaver and the display says "Hello, followed by your name." Use the app, set it to sensitive mode, follow the pressure guides, and you will have a comfortable shave. Use Williams Electric Shave before. Follow it with the Proraso after shave lotion. It is a great product. Hopefully, it will last a long time. How does it compare to the other brands? The Panasonics are the most durable. The Panasonic battery can be replaced. Although my two never needed it after years of use. The foil and the cutters are the most durable. If you lubricate before each shave, yours may last many years. Japanese quality is amazing. The Braun advantage is the cleaning system. Braun uses an alcohol cleaner. It does the best job of cleaning the razor and it dries quickly. Braun's foil does not last long though. Panasonic and Braun have cleaning stands that clean, dry, lubricate, and charge the razors. Norelco's system is the simplest: it only cleans. Evaporation will do the drying. Theoretically, it should be the most reliable. Though I have not experienced any issues with the other systems. Norelco and Panasonic uses a detergent rather than an alcohol. The "new" system from Panasonic uses a packet of detergent mixed with water in a special tank at the bottom of the cleaning stand. And no, I do not have experience with the "new" system from Panasonic. My Arc still uses the plastic cartridge that has an internal foam filter and detergent. There are do-it-yourself men on social media who play at chemistry by creating their own cleaning fluid. I do not recommend doing that. My shavers have always lasted years. I believe it is because I use the original cleaning cartridges and fluids from the manufacturer. I also use spray lubricant on the blades. In the past, I used products from Norelco and Remington. Now, I use Panasonic's shaver oil. I lubricate after each cleaning. A drop on each blade is enough. Which means the shaver is never used without lubrication. How long the battery will last, in my opinion, will determine how many years of service you get. I only recharge when the battery level reaches down to 20%. The Norelco's battery will discharge even when not in use because the Bluetooth communicates with your phone.

The Perfect Razor!
I used Philips Norelco electric razors for years. Worked well and never stopped. Yet, I felt the older models were lacking when the beard was a few days old, so I tried the Braun Series 9 Pro. It was fine for long whiskers, but never got close enough. Searched a few more tube videos and decided the Panasonic ARC6 was a smart idea. At first, it handled the long and the short of it, and I thought I was on to something. But the blade sharpness declined quickly and after a few months it started to sound like an outdoor yard tool. I jumped at the chance to purchase this new Norelco. Nirvana! Handles long whiskers and gets so close and I love the cleaning system and UV case to sterilize and recharge the razor. When you open the head you do not see residue from many shaves. Cleaning handles that issue, so after months the sharpness continues. The app and glowing lights show the amount of pressure and motion you should use to shave and is designed to train you for the closest shave. It is high tech, to be sure, but I have found that pressing a bit harder and not worrying about seeing the green light rim around the razor actually results in the closest shave I have ever had! Perfection. So, don't worry about the app. The shave is close and smooth, no nicks, no pulls, and no irritation. Cleaning system is amazing and it is quiet. It fits the hand perfectly and is lighter than the Braun or Panasonic. I have found the perfect razor. Worth every dollar.

Best electric shaver I've used
After decades, I finally bought a premium shaver, upgraded from my Panasonic Arc 4. I did extensive research as the most important thing was a decent shaver with little to no irritation. *first time rotary shaver user The first shave, I got irritation on my neck area so was worried and debating whether to return it or not. After the 2nd and 3rd try of a dry shave 1 hour after taking a shower, no irritation and a clean shave though I had to repeat some areas. So far, tested up to a 7 day beard. Main drawback is some hairs need multiple passes regardless of angle or direction. If you get past the learning curve of proper rotation and pressure, guided by lights, you won't be disappointed. 10/10, I'd get again if on sale. Hopefully it'll last for years. Note, I do wish the trimmer wasn't a separate attachment. Tedious in 2025.

Better than previous attempts.
Works better than I expected. About 4 or 5 years ago I bought the top model and regretted. My older model was much better. I took a risk and did the same again, top model and this time the experience is much better. It's definitely only worth it on a sale or deal as over priced otherwise. The same blades can be used on many of the models too so often it's just the motor or features you're paying for. So far I enjoy it. Rinsing is easy. I wish it came with a charger. They assume everyone has usb chargers which we do but they are used by other devices already.

Quality unit and solid shaving performance so far.
I just made the switch to an electric razor after using disposables for many years, so I was skeptical. I did a lot of research and looked atthe i9000 prestige ultra along with competing Braun and Panasonic. What sold me were the exceedingly positive reviews on the Norelco. The unit appears well built, has a very functional stand, and liked the ease of opening and closing the shaving head for cleaning. I was hesitant that the sideburn trimmer was a seperate head versus a pop-out. But so far, I haven't minded that and mostly can get away with using the regular shaving head. The unit is quiet and seems to give a very close shave with minimal irritation and daily cleaning (without using the fancy including cleaning chamber) is very easy. While I am unable to comment yet on longevity of the shaving head as I've only had it about a week, so far I am very pleased with the quality of the unit and the shaving performance. I don't miss the shaving cream. :) Update: Several weeks in and still exceptionally pleased with my purchase. A few months in: Still excellent but the side burn trimmer attachment is useless. But I barley use that so still very pleased.

Best electric shaver I have owned.
Have used Remington micro screens and Panasonic foil shavers. Also had a cheap norelco style that didn’t work well. Was surprised how quiet this was and how well it shaved. Cleaner is great. Don’t have to pull apart and brush everything. Most expensive shaver I have ever bought but if it keeps performing the way it does it is worth it.

Pressure sensor for best shave
Who would have thought my new shaver would require a firmware update and work with a Bluetooth app? I've used Norelcos since 1972, up until I sensed a plateau in the quality of shaves about 5 years ago. I switched to a foil shaver. It gave a great shave, but maintenance was expensive. I saw three Norelco engineers in a social media thread hold a livestream answering questions about the new technology. I decided there was a reason to change back. I always preferred the ergonomics of a Norelco. It gives the closest shave to a razor I've ever had. It's easy to clean, taking 1-2 minutes with the cleaning tank, where the foil shaver took 90 minutes. It has a pressure sensor that lights a ring under the head which tells you if you're pressing the shaver hard enough against your face for the best shave. Comes with an adjustable trimmer head. Time will tell, but so far I'm very happy with it!
