Smiffys Chameleon Hat

The hat is a tad small on my head, but I expected that after reading some of the other reviews.. I mostly wore it cocked back on my head anyway, and it helped me win my company's annual meeting '80s costume contest. Because there are no bows/ribbons on the braids, I simply fashioned my own, and it looked great.

I needed a bowler hat and other accessories to turn into Boy George for a costume party. This was a great selection and fit my small head quite comfortably. I got lots of compliments.On the down side, there are only 12 skinny braids stapled into the hat. For the real effect, I added my own faux-yarn braids and also left my hair down. I don't think I would have been happy if I were short-haired or bald, trying to get the same effect.This will hold up just fine for future costume outings, but it's not designed to wear often. You get what you pay for, and this did the trick for me.

Got this hat for my company's Halloween dress up for the 80s day. It's going to complete my Boy George outfit !!!!! Love, love the hat ! It really makes the costume. Very happy.

Hat is much smaller than it appears, and really didn't fit my adult male head. The hair and coloring is decent quality, but needs further embellishments (like ribbons, feathers, etc) to really match the Boy George look. It did NOT come with any of the ribbon or extra detail pieces shown in the picture, which was dissapointing. In the end the hat was just too uncomfortable to wear for more than a few minutes, so I removed the hair (its simply hot-glued in) and glued it into a larger fedora style hat I picked up for cheap.All in all the wig hair is a decent basis for building a more detailed costume, but the hat sizing and style is not quite accurate or comfortable for an average adult head.

Very tight fit. I consider my headband size to be average and this hurt when put on my head. Very stiff material, so it did not flex.

Went to a Culture Club concert- this was perfect! There are ribbons weaved in the braid- but not tied around the braid as shown in the pic. I added my own ribbons to give it texture. Lots of compliments on this look!
