First time use: the whistle did not work and steam leaked from sides, what did i miss? is 2 cups water enough? how many min does whistle take?

This Is steaming cooker. There is no whistle in steaming cooker. 2-3cups water is fine. Watch YouTube videos

does it work with an electric stove or only flame stoves?

It worked really well on electric stove.

Is this product compatible with induction??

I believe so. It has a flat bottom so good to use with an induction stove,, but it is a light weight stainless steel body which might make it more prone to getting scald marks on the bottom more easily as part of regular wear and tear when compared to using on a gas stove.

Does this cooker whistle once done? if not, how many minutes should i keep it on? how much water should i pour? also, there are no holes in the plates

It whistles when the vapor passes through it. The trick is to delay the vapor to pass through it so that the items get cooked thoroughly. You need to put enough water so that the first tray would barely touch it. The plates have pours in the sides
