With guidance and encouragement from her spirited new teacher Miss Stacy, Anne Shirley commits to her studies and earns a spot at Queen's College in far-off Charlottetown. But when Anne departs for Queen's, Matthew and Marilla feel a sudden emptiness in their lives, especially when Marilla's failing eyesight and Matthew's poor health make life more difficult on the farm. And in Charlottetown, Anne is overwhelmed by loneliness, city life, and the pressure of intense competition, especially from Gilbert Blythe. Facing difficult choices, will Anne find that the dark cloud over her life does have a silver lining?

CLEAN FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT
I really enjoy the stars in this version, especially who plays Anne, much more than the original. I do like looking back at a simpler time and environment but one that still deals with fundamental human nature. I was disappointed though that this installment was rather light in content and pretty short, especially for the price I paid.

LOVE this series. I had the VHS and replaced them with DVD’S. Whenever I want to defuse this is my go to series. Quality was good, price was great. Very satisfied.

The older version is better
The older version is better. The casting was OK and the stories were OK but overall, this re-imaging of the story is nowhere near as good as the original PBS Anne

A nice family movie
I love all the Green Gables movies. This one is on the same level as the rest. A nice movie.

Don’t Even Bother
Waste of money. Why they bothered to make this after the excellent version with Megan Follows is beyond me. The girl who plays Anne is this version is not remotely as good. None of the actors in this version compare with the older & much better version.
