So pretty and easy to clean
Keeps my coffee super warm for at least 4 hours - haven't tested it long. It looks really nice and the material is easy to clean.

heat retention data for Zojirushi carafe
Chart shows temperature drop over time for full carafe (1 liter). Main source of heat loss seems to be the lid, which gets warm to the touch. The carafe has a rather narrow mouth (~3 cm diameter), which helps with heat retention but makes cleaning difficult.

The best in the market for its value
This is one of my favorite zujiroshi products. As a loyal customer to this brand, I bought this item. I found cheeper options available from other brands but keep a note that they are not similar. In particular, the interior glass is much much better at insulating + very difficult to get dirty! It’s a top notch. That said, be careful of treating this as steel item because IT WILL BREAK! If it breaks, you’ll see that right away since it’ll leak. I don’t have any issue with this one but it’s an advice from my previous experiences.

Some design flaws and rusting after a few months.
While this carafe has good thermal characteristics and keeps liquids hot for a long time, it has some major drawbacks:* It rusted around the edges after only a few months. I do not leave it exposed to water externally, so I'm not sure why this happened, why a non stainless steel was chosen as the material, or why the paint was not properly protecting the corrosive steel.* When cranked tightly closed, it makes a low grade squeak with air moving inside or outside the carafe as temperature changes cause pressure differences. This goes on for hours.* It pours really slowly (I can live with this, but took adjustment)* It's not easy to clean (small opening), and if using for coffee, buildup happens fairly quickly (1-2 weeks if only rinsing in between). Only chemical soaking/cleaning works, as you cannot get a sponge or brush inside.* Not a big factor, but this thing is big and takes up space. I'm guessing that's good for the thermal characteristics.

Solidly okay
I imagine these used to be made better. It is what it is, the inside is glass. I just imagine these used to be made better. Is it fine? Yes.
