2X McAlpine Replacement Basket Strainer Waste Plug BSKTOP

We have a 15 year old Ikea sink and I was hoping these would fit as the basket plugs have the rubber Gromit not a shaft underneath. Unfortunately the rubber is too thick

These replaced two strainer waste plugs which came with our double kitchen sink 24 years ago, and worked well but had become rather discoloured.One of the 2 new ones today fell apart (the top handle came away from the rest).The price was not high so I have attempted a DIY repair with some "Gorilla" brand epoxy resin glue.Let's see how long the other one lasts!The first repair with glue failed, so tried a cable tie instead.Then the second item failed too, same problem - and the cable tie solution did not work.Updated value for money rating reflects the failure of 2 out of 2 after only just over 4 or so months of normal use.

Does not fit the ikea sink, slightly too big, the rubber feet, don’t fit the strainer holes in the sink

Bought these to replace our original ones from a well known Swedish company. They needed fingers rather than a shaft to do the job and fit snuggly but plugs like these are difficult to get and after a lot of trial and error we found these to be just right.

Have been looking for these for a while so happy they arrived and fitted perfect into my 24 year old sink!

Nothing wrong with the item, had to send it back because it didn't fit, so a little difficult to rate.
