Thrustmaster Sol-R 1 Flightstick – Space Simulation Joystick for PC – Magnetic Precision (H.E.A.R.T), 21 Action Buttons & Ambidextrous Ergonomic Design – Ideal for Star Citizen & MSFS

I used to play a lot of space sims (X-Wing, Wing Commander, etc) but have not owned a Flightstick for over 10 years. I bought the SOL-R mainly to play X-Wing in VR using a mod and I am blown away by the whole experience. The SOL-R has enough hats, buttons and dials to map up all required functions but the killer feature for VR is the variety of control styles. Best example is the 4 switches along the top which are basically 8 separate buttons (flipping up or down just triggers a button press) but because you cannot see the joystick in VR the different design means you are never confused about which control you are activating. Brilliant!

Bought this for use in Elite Dangerous and I have to say it is very good. I bought it to replace my T-HOTAS One. It is quite big and feels very sturdy. The buttons feel good to use and are configurable. There is a preconfigured map on the Thrustmaster website. The only annoyance is that you have to start a separate app to load the configuration before starting the game every time.

I bought this stick for star citizen. I have previously used a cheap razor mach 2 (which I got for £40 on a deal and was a very good stick for that price) And I had a VKB Omnithrottle on the left side. After import taxes and shipping I paid around £400 for this stick. I feel in love with the look of these Sol r's immediately. And I decided they will look perfect on my desk. I have purchased only one stick for now as the dual set is out of stock and I thought I can always order a second if the first feels great. I have not yet set it up for star citizen but I will do later. What I can say is the feel of the stick out of the box is amazing. Better than my VKB. It sits very firmly in neutral and has lovely resistance in movement. I cant wait to feel it in game. Customisable button colours, lovely amount of switches and buttons. more than youd ever need. The fact I can buy two of these for less than I paid for my vkb is remarkable. I dont think it's underpriced though, it's bang on for the market it's aimed in my opinion. If you are a first time stick buyer, I can safely say that this stick will become the top choice by a long way in the mid range, and to the layman gamer like me, there isnt anything left wanting. I know there are plenty of top end stick users and enthusiasts out there that will have much more to say on the specs and performance at a more detailed level. But to the 'out of the box' gamer like me this stick will reign supreme for a while. I am very happy. The feel is premium, the performance I have no doubt will be smooth and the overall satisfaction will more than justify the price.

This is a nice quality joystick and works really well. the only problem is games don't seem to support it unless you program it in yourself. There are lots of Thrustmaster joysticks that come up in games that you can use but this one isn't so you need to config it all yourself in windows. apart from that, i cant fault it. it's good quality, there's lots of buttons and it's very responsive and very sturdy. really glad i brought this.

A great pair of sticks, colour assignable buttons real handy. I use for Star Citizen and they more than cover all my controls. Real smooth to use and good quality.

ok, i have been using this for a couple of weeks now, I absolutely love this stick. However, after the first week I did lose the clockwise twist of the rz axis completely, and neither of the 2 recalibration options worked. However, as i have managed to end up with 2 of these things, i feel more comfortable taking the non functional one apart to see what the hells going on. I have to say, this is by far the easiest flight stick to open up and it turns out that fixing the rz-axis issue many people experience is just as simple. Loosening the nut (see pic) by 1 whole rotation fixes the issue entirely, just make sure the red line on the magnet is facing forward before putting the stick back together again. Then run the base & RZ axis calibrations and everything should be good. If you still experience regular rz axis drift, maybe loosen that nut by 1 more rotation. Always finish with that red line on the magnet facing forward.

Estoy encantado, me ha gustado tanto que voy a comprar otro para usarlos de forma dual... Buenos materiales, cómodo, bonito, preciso, personalizable. Lo recomiendo para quien quiera iniciarse con un Joy bueno y de calidad, y no demasiado caro, seguro que le darás muchas horas de uso. 1 mes después de usarlo he decidido comprar la pareja para usarlos de forma dual... Estoy más que satisfecho

J'avais un Logitech X52 Pro de quelques mois seulement avec un "jeu" horrible du Joystick (c'est vraiment une honte de la part de Logitech ...). Je cherchais donc un nouveau joystick (je garde la manette des gazs du X52 Pro). J'ai hésité avec Vkb ou Virpil qui sont sans doute de bonne qualité mais le coté SAV et logiciel m'ont fait longtemps hésité ... Et Thrustmaster à sorti ce joystick. C'est full plastique mais je trouve que niveau qualité c'est plutôt correct. La précision est plutôt bonne. Incomparable avec le X52 de logitech. Le joystick nécessite par contre davantage d'effort, les boutons switchs aussi, question d'habitude surement ... Avec les supports en plus il est vraiment stable, même posé sur un bureau. Les boutons semble de bonne facture. Les LEDs aussi (le X52 à des soucis avec l'éclairage LED) Globalement il est plutôt bien conçu. Tous ces boutons sont appréciables. Pas de soucis de mapping dans Elite Dangerous. La molette (moi j'aurais mis un mini joy ici) par contre n'est pas très précise, difficile de défiler cran à cran (peut être que des pilotes corrigerons cela ? ou une option à modifier ?) Pour les petites mains comme moi, les 3 mini joysticks ne sont pas toujours facile d'accès même en réglant la hauteur mais bon question d'habitude aussi je pense ..

If you've watched reviews on the Solr1 you know its features are great. But the quality and feel is even better in person. My fourth flight stick and my favorite so far. Came in perfect condition from seller. And a day early.👍🏿
