They germinate easy and are stunning. Must be patient!
The media could not be loaded. I purchased these last year and I planted in May/June ‘22, can’t remember the exact date. They started blooming today, 4/26/23 and are stunning! Plant in a sunny location; remove all bottom leaves once the plant gets established to avoid rust issues and make sure there’s plenty of air circulation between the leaves. The more leaves I snap, the bushier it gets! I have crap soil, live in USDA zone 8a and I’ve got clay soil. Didn’t even amend, I used fish fertilizer once a month, regular water and voila! They don’t transplant well - you’ve got to transplant when they’re little because when there past a foot high, it takes them longer to recover. I simply cut the wilted leaves (after transplanting, the ones that start dying/don’t do well) and after a lot of babying, the transplanted plants recovered (at least a week of giving them extra care). It is around 6ft tall right now and still growing! Spectacular, 1000% worth the wait!

I LOVE HOLLYHOCKS AND GIANT ONES TOO
GREAT ITEM WILL PLANT LATER IN YEAR - OR NEXT SPRING. HOLLYHOCKS AND THE GIANT TALL VARIETY SUCH AS THIS ARE STUPENDOUS. HAVE SOME REPRODUCING IN YARD THAT HAVE BEEN HERE FOR 45 YEARS. TALL ONES TEND TO NEED SUPPORT OF SOME TYPE.

Germination in 4 days!
Although I was a bit concerned due to some reviewers' bad luck with germination, these are doing fine for me. I soaked 10 seeds in hot water (it started out hot) on my sunny, 72 degree F kitchen windowsill for 36 hours. Then moved the seeds to a folded wet paper towel in an unsealed ziploc bag, and draped it over a plastic pot sitting 6" over a fluorescent light fixture in an 80 degree room. The seeds were at between 85-90 degrees. After another 36 hours, 5 of them (half) had sprouted.I removed them to 4" nursery pots in sterile seed starting mix. Now we wait!I only gave 4 stars so far because I've not yet seen the mature plants. Will update my review if/when I get blooms, but since these are biennials that may not be until next year! So far, so good.

All of the seeds coming up great!
I bought 2 packets and I first questioned if they would all come up. I am amazed. Every single seed coming up and it looks like they have multiplied even. Amazing. This is my first time with Hollyhocks. I planted them in 2 separate medium small planters and they get afternoon sun. I even accidentally spilled one pot of dirt with the seeds and had to scoop it back in and they still are coming up. I thought they may not. So excited to watch them grow. I kept the dirt moist. Excited to see next season the final result.
