I'm looking for a jews harp in the key of F?

Jaw harps can certainly be in a particular key. Unfortunately all the jaw harps on Amazon neglect to list the key of the instrument. I purchased one in A on a different site because I needed to know it would be in the right key. The way you shape your mouth just alters the overtone resonance, while the fundamental drone pitch is always the same. Sellers here on Amazon should just check the fundamental pitch and list it so that serious buyers can consider purchasing.

The jaw harp isn't in any specific key. The tone generated is entirely dependent on the size and shape of the player's mouth cavity. Tone variation is created by working the jaw and moving the tongue to resize the resonance chamber inside one's mouth.

Is this lead/heavy metal free? I'm shopping for kids. Thanks!

I’m not actually sure. I know that it is designed to be on your mouth. My husband loves to play this daily. It is easy to use and sturdy. It is well made and I believe it could hold up to kids depending on their age of course.

It is referred in our description as both a "jew harp" and "jaw harp" is it a typo or is it an ethnical derived instrument>? read 1st description.
