How many lights do need to buy?

I think it really depends on how you like to wrap the lights around your tree, if you like them close together or spread out, but we used two 25 foot strands with 140 lights each and ran just a little short. We probably should have bought a third strand.

How or what do I do with the round disk attached to the trunk of the tree that goes into the base? It won't fit this way.

With the way our's was packed in the box, I think it may have just been on there to prevent the end of that branch from cutting through the box during shipping, because it didn't fit back on the branch either. We just tossed it as well.

I have a cat that likes to climb on christmas trees would this be heavy to were it wont fall down?

my cat's only knocked it over twice but they are pretty heafty cats...I will say that they were able to bend the top to a horizontal angle pretty easily though
