Game changer
I have had this for three months and I feel that it has been an essential part of my health journey. At first I hated it because it kept glitching out and would stop recording my results, but it worked fine for my husband. So I kept trying and I found out that if I rotate the bar forward a bit in my hands so that more of my palm is making more contact with the sensor it works! I have adjusted my workouts to try and target areas that I was low on like my low muscle mass especially in my right leg. And there has been improvement! I know it is never going to be perfect numbers, but it is an excellent guide to at least see where I am improving or getting worse. These pictures show what has happened since I have increased strength training and have been eating healthier. Nov had higher fat percentage than Jan. I also have another scale and the weight number has been almost exactly the same as that one,but this gives me way more insight!

Fails to update -- does not work more than 24 hours.
When I received this it worked fine out of the box. But now, 24 hours later, it will not record any new stats. It is connected to my phone and appears to be gathering data, but it does not display the updated stats in the app. And, like all things app driven, there are no troubleshooting directions, and no human being can be reached to ask questions of. I sent an e-mail to Hume for support, but if this is like other high-tech, AI driven firms, I doubt I will receive any human help. When I reported my issue to Hume Health, I received an e-mail response to my issue that directed me to reset the scales and re-install the app. It worked the first time, but the next day, failed to update. I purchased this to have a convenient means of saving progress. But, since this product does not update, I'm back to "dumb" scales and a writing my results on the calendar. Another piece of hi-tech junk, long on marketing, short on customer service. Returning it to Amazon today.

Easy to use and understandable.
Little pricey, but cool tool!

Beware of the Hume Body Pod... believe all the bad reviews
Well so far horrible. I dont know about the scan results as the connection has never been completed. without connection just a scale and way to expensive. I am giving it a week and will be sending it back. FYI for a scale this expensive to have a major connection problem in this day and age it totally unexceptable. Hopefully I can do a review o the scans if this thing ever connects but it seems highly unlikely at this point

Nice but doesn't connect properly
The scale is nice and the data are nice too. The problem the connectivity is atrocious. You pretty much need to unpair it then pair it again before each use. It's really not usable at all so sadly I have to return it.

I like eating too much.
I just got it today. I am a fat pig : ) I know I weight 318 at least. Scale says I am 322 with 136 lbs body fat and lean mass of 185 lbs. I can salsa dance two hours, so even though I am 63 , this scale says my biological age is 39 years. At least now I know why I can't climb hills easily This thing runs on bluetooth 2.4 Hz , so you might have to shut off wireless to get a connection. Some wireless interferes with bluetooth due to same frequency. Been using it and recording the percentage of body fat. I found that if I jog 4 times a day on the treadmill for 20+ minutes, this device will in fact record a small percentage body fat lost. I continue to job 4 times a day with rest between. This scale is accurate because I went to an appointment at a weight loss center and they had a professional scale that said I was 124.2 lbs of fat versus 136 lbs this scale found.

Awesome! Very Close to DXA
I give the scale five stars because it was within a couple of pounds for both lean and fat mass of a DXA scan done on the same day. Of note, I was able to use the Hume scale, DXA, and InBody in the same day. If you consider the DXA scan the gold standard, then the Hume scale was far closer than the InBody scan. (this may be an issue with the InBody I was using or the technician) The set up and linkage with the Hume application on the phone was straightforward no issues Overall, I consider it accurate and for the money it costs a little more than two DXA scans. Except you don't need to schedule an appointment and you can do it as often as you see fit. Combine the Hume with body measurements and pictures and you have a winning/solid method for tracking progress and achieving your goals.

Totally inaccurate
Before I purchased this thing I read the online reviews and there were many reviews that said it is very accurate. I completely disagree. Just look at the screenshots. Does this arm look like it has 35% bodyfat? Does this leg look like it has 30% fat? I am sorry, I am maybe not a lean mean muscle machine, but I am not 1/3 fat either. I bought this to help me with my health metrics, but this is absolutely wrong. If I measure bodyfat with the pincher it shows bodyfat % around 18-20%. And don't get too excited about the FREE app either. It is only free to download. If you want the full benefit it will cost you $10 a month. I am very disappointed.

I think the accuracy of the scale is questionable. It has my muscle mass about 2kg higher than the InBody machine at my gym, and about 1kg lower in fat mass. Overall, this skews my body fat percentage by almost 2%. It could be that the InBody machine at my gym is inaccurate, but since that’s what I’d used in challenges, etc. I participate it, that’s my benchmark. Also, if you drink a couple glasses of water, this scale increases your muscle mass by a similar weight. The app is also a bit problematic. It doesn’t sync activity with apple health, though it should. If you search online, this is a well-known problem that has yet to be solved though Hume is aware of it. This means the app gives you a perpetually low health score, which is displayed in big numbers at the top of the home page screen. Obviously, you can ignore it, but it’s not very motivating. I’d only suggest this scale if you’re ok with a devise that is consistently inconsistent, which may be fine if only this machine is how you’re gauging your changes in body composition, and if you don’t care that you may see a poor health score if they never fix this syncing issue.
