Decent Reels for the Price Point
Funny story - bought two of these for a couple of seven foot fishing poles I had. When they arrived I was "floored" by the size of them and quickly realized I really did not understand reel sizes. Make sure you do before ordering any. That said, I always wanted to try surf fishing here in Florida. Wally had some decent, brand name, twelve foot poles in stock. These reels fit those poles perfectly. Surf fished three times now. Hooked something big enough that it took the line out and eventually snapped it. Fifty-pound test mind you. Real Fish Story! I'm hooked! No pun intended.

A great deal and solid build. (10000)
The reel feels strong and durable out of the box. It's got a good weight to it. Going over the parts list it seems 90% of the parts are metal aside from the drag knob, reel handle and reverse switch. Reeling is fairly smooth and quiet. The bale is loud (metal clink) going from open to close using the reel so I would suggest manually closing it by hand after casting to increase longevity. It's not a high performance reel but for the price its a great deal and a solid build.I will be going for sturgeon soon and deep sea later so I'll be sure to update my review based on it's performance in those areas.

17 plus 1 ball bearings
That reel and surf rod is going to be one badass couple. I went with Reaction Tackle 25lbs high performance line. I did a weight check on the line went to , which is reel max. Didn't faze it!! Line is .o11" thick. I did the math. 960yards of line!!!!! Can't wait to get 11' ,4 piece surf caster tomorrow. We'll you know what I'll be doing as soon as the truck pulls up. Shame both the 2500 and 3000 models hold less line. I'm going to ramp up to75 test and65lbs @ reel. These two are smooth badass's. Mm

Worth it. Sturdy and reliable
This thing is a beast. I use it for my shark fishing down in Florida. Very smooth reel. Helped me bring in a 6 footer!

The screws rusted
The screws rust. I took this to the beach once and the screws rusted. Ridiculous that I have to replace the screws after one trip to the beach. Yes, I rinsed the salt off. Still rusted.
