Praise the Mavala!
My baby is 17 months old, and this worked in just one day. She started sucking her thumb around 3 months old and never took a pacifier. Since then, she always sucked her thumb in the car seat and while sleeping. I honestly found it hard to look at, but I planned to address it closer to age two, when she might better understand. Recently, she started sucking much more aggressively. The skin on her thumb became raw, cracked, and scabbed over, and it clearly looked painful. It also wasn’t healing even after a long time. I knew she was still very young, but at that point I decided to try this product. I do want to mention that the taste is extremely bitter. The first time she put her thumb in her mouth, she immediately stuck her tongue out, smacked her lips, and clearly hated the taste. She kept making faces and licking her lips in confusion — but that bitterness is exactly what made this work. The result was a complete success. She stopped sucking her thumb after just one day. The first night, she tossed a little in her sleep but didn’t cry and slept through the night. I plan to continue applying it for another 1–2 weeks just to be safe. I’m incredibly grateful for this product — the bitterness may be unpleasant, but it is truly effective.

Works very well!
Works like a charm! Bought this for my almost 2yr old. She had a bad habit of sucking her thumb and it’s gotten to the point where it’s affecting her teeth. Used this ONE NIGHT and she hasn’t gone back to the habit since!! It is a nasty taste and she did throw up as a result of it but she hasn’t sucked her thumb so i count it as a win!

Finally Broke a Lifelong Habit!
After years of trying to stop biting my nails, I finally decided to give Mavala Stop a try. Here’s my experience with the product after several weeks of use. What I Liked: It Really Works: The primary feature is the intensely bitter taste, and it delivers. The first time you unconsciously put your finger near your mouth, you'll know it. This immediate, unpleasant feedback is highly effective at building awareness and breaking the automatic habit . Easy to Apply: The application is just like a clear nail polish. It goes on smoothly and dries relatively quickly, forming a transparent coat on the nails . Long-Lasting Formula: A major advantage is that it survives hand washing. The taste deterrent remains active, so you don't have to reapply it multiple times a day. Most users find one application lasts about two days, making it convenient and cost-effective . For the Whole Family: This product is designed for anyone over the age of 3, making it a solution for both children and adults struggling with nail-biting or thumb-sucking . What to Consider: The "Smell" Factor: When first applied, it has a distinct chemical or "nail polish" smell. However, this odor does fade quickly after it dries on the nails . Texture Can Feel Sticky: Some users note that the polish can feel a bit sticky or tacky for a short while after application until it fully sets . Requires Consistency: Breaking a habit takes time. You need to be consistent with reapplication every 2-3 days for at least a couple of weeks to see lasting results . Final Verdict: Mavala Stop is a highly effective and practical product for tackling nail-biting. While the initial smell and slight stickiness are minor drawbacks, the powerful bitter taste and long-lasting formula make it a worthwhile investment. It successfully helped me become conscious of my habit and break the cycle. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a solution.

Effective and Safe Solution to Stop Nail Biting in Young Kids
I purchased for my child (age 3) had a persistent nail-biting habit. After trying reminders and other methods with little success, this product made an immediate difference. The polish goes on easily and looks clear and natural, so it doesn’t draw attention or feel like a “treatment.” The bitter taste is extremely effective—after just one or two attempts, my child stopped putting fingers in their mouth. It also helped discourage thumb sucking, which was an added benefit. I appreciate that it’s safe for children ages 3+ and doesn’t contain harsh ingredients. Very effective bitter taste,Easy to apply, clear and discreet,Safe for ages 3+,Helps with both nail biting and thumb sucking. But Needs frequent reapplication after hand washing,, Bitter taste may bother very sensitive children,,Slightly pricey for the size. this is a well-made, effective product that does exactly what it claims. It worked far better than I expected and helped break a long-standing habit.

Worked after one use for our three year old!
Our three year old sucked her thumb every night to fall asleep, before naps and when she was tired throughout the day. We applied this once and after a few hours of frustration she gave up on the thumb and hasn’t done it since. That was over a month ago. She figured it out real quick. I tasted it for myself and it’s gross but not horrifying or torture. I’d compare it to biting your nail after using nail polish remover. We tried the thumb guard but that was a massive battle and meltdown. Another bonus was we also started letting her use pretty nail polish for fun which she loves so she’d get excited about that and I’d reapply this at the same time so we wouldn’t have to fight her over it. Highly recommend this!

Good luck reopening it.
Effective, but sticky. It lasts a long time on my nails, and tastes awful (it’s supposed to). It is sticky on my nails until it dries, which I don’t mind. The trouble is, it makes it extremely difficult to open the next time, as the cap with the brush becomes glued to the glass bottle. I can’t open it without using one of those stuck lid openers. Poor design.

It worked. Our daughter is no longer a thumb sucker so I’m grateful this product exists . It is an absolutely horrible taste but it does the job.

Amazing product. Does what it says on the tin. I’ve bitten my nails for almost thirty years. I once stopped biting them for about six months but only because they were in artificial nails always. But there’s never been a time where I’ve had them exposed and not bitten. It’s been a real battle. My nails have therefore always looked bitten, unhealthy, malnourished and quite disgusting. I could only go on dates if I had fake nails. Playing pool, typing, holding a microphone or even gesturing became quite embarrassing with these nasty nails. I always felt embarrassed and disappointed in my self. I decided to try a bitter tasting polish as a fix. Best decision ever! This one tastes so Terrible and each coat lasts for days so you only have to reapply every 3-5 days depending on how often you wash. That means even though it’s a small bottle, it will last you months. I started using this on the 23rd of September 2018 and because of how bitter it tasted, the aversion started immediately. I stopped biting immediately but would initially still try to just have the fingers around my mouth but the taste is so nasty and long lasting that i actually became used to keeping my hands away from my mouth and even hated the idea of my hands going near my face. Do keep the bottle tightly sealed and clean as mine leaked and so it’s almost empty. However, even though I only used it for six weeks, I’ve now stopped biting my nails and instead obsess about having a healthy nail care regime which consists of pushing the cuticles back, painting them and applying nail hardener. My nails have grown leaps and bounds as you can see from the before and after photos (taken 6-7 weeks apart). I can now have a full manicure, paint them and flaunt my nails. They look amazing, I get complements from friends and family but they are quite weak due to extended Time spent biting for almost 30 years plus lots of gels, acrylic and stick on nails. So I am now rather focused on treating them and getting them strong and healthy. I can’t explain the joy, peace, confidence and freedom I feel from using this. It’s honestly changed my life. My family and friends are so proud of me. Thank God. Cheers to the manufacturers of this and the amazon seller. I’m so grateful: you changed my life.

Been a lifelong nail biter. I'm worst in the car where I do it absentmindedly. Was a bit sceptical about how good this stuff would be, or how long lasting it would last, but my fears turned out to be unfounded. It is awesome, tastes disgusting, and it very hard wearing. It's almost invisible unless you're really looking close, and the few times I've forgotten about it, and started to bite a nail, I'm given a very swift reminder not to do it again. The taste is bitter, and stays in the mouth long enough for you to not want to do it again. I sit here about two weeks into using it - nails are growing back nicely, no more sore fingers - nails are actually starting to catch on surfaces if I rub my fingertips over things. Amazing. I imagine I'll keep up the treatment for another couple of weeks, then stash the little bottle somewhere, and if I start to slip back into old habits, just do some shorter treatments as necessary, but I'm hoping this will help me break the association completely. If you want to stop - couldn't recommend this stuff highly enough.

Worked for my daughter. She had been sucking on her thumb since she was a baby. At around 3 and a half, I started using this. She's now 4 and doesn't really suck her thumb anymore. It's important to note that I never forced it on her. We had a discussion (not sure how much she understood) and she agreed to wear the liquid. One thing is for sure, the taste is horrible.
