Seems to be stronger than regular formula
Only reason I got the gold is bc I would like to compare it to the regular frontline as our cat started going outside some. It seems to work great and I’m at ease knowing flea eggs are also killed. Vet said I should not have to worry about worms as long as she’s using it.The only concern I’ll be watching for is that she got sick within days of putting it on her. However, I cannot say it was the frontline itself. So I’ll be paying more attention on her next dose. My cat is about 7 pounds, she’s a year old. Make sure to put the liquid on the back of the neck. If any runs down, they will lick it so watch for that as well!

Best one so far!
So I normally use Frontline Plus because I can get it right at Walmart. Well they had been out for a while so I figured I’d just order on amazon instead. When I saw there was a “Gold” available I was like yup I wanna try it! So glad I did. I have 1 cat that goes in and out and another who stays in. Mid almost end of July and still haven’t had a flea on me yet! Now II was at Walmart the other day and picked up a box of the plus but I think I’m going to reorder the gold now and just use the plus off season.

It works the best
Ignore the photo. Evan partied a little too hard after no longer having flees. Finally, the applicator is better but... Opening is not what it looks like. Make sure it comes out before you grab your cat. Works very well, no flee baths. Pricey but the cheaper stuff does not work. This does.

Fipronil is good against more than just fleas…
I like Frontline Gold because if your cat does go outside, the active ingredient in Frontline in called fipronil and it takes care of mites that cause walking dandruff, otherwise known as Cheyletiella. Cheyletiella can be identified by a flakey, almost Parmesan cheese looking dander on the fur/skin. It is HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS TO OTHER CATS. Hope this helps.

DOES NOT WORK AT ALL!!!! HOUSE BECAME FLEA INFESTED!
I don't remember why I decided to change from the product I was using as it had always been effective but after reading about FRONTLINE GOLD, I thought it might be better as they advertise that it not only kills fleas but eggs and flea larvae and ticks. My cat has never been outside but still manages to get an occasional flea or two. Well, dear Lord, what a huge mistake it was to buy this product. The house became completely flea infested!!! My poor kitty was covered with fleas from top to bottom and they were running all over his body and in his eyes. He was completely miserable. I had never seen flea eggs before, but I started seeing tons of them everywhere (especially on my black desk pads). I thought the product was working and that the eggs were dead. NOT!!! Little fleas started hatching and jumping all over the place, even on me. I’m in the process of treating the whole house and have gone back to using what I used before which works... but this has been a costly mistake. I paid $96.56 for 6 doses plus the cost of treating a flea infested house. I might just as well have put water between his shoulder blades for the good this product did. It's too late for Amazon to refund my money, but you can bet the manufacturer is going to hear from me. DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU LIKE FLEAS!

Limited effectiveness...
10 Dec 2024: All four of my cats had a rash of fleas and the vet recommended Frontline Gold to aid in breaking the flea lifecycle, advising that this will take a few months to tamp down. I'm into my third month of doses and am still fighting fleas. The treatment works well on a large portion of the cat's body, but nightly combing reveals lively fleas still about the head, the throat, forward shoulders, and behind the ears. Additionally, I have a big boy (16 lbs) and the dose seems to only last 3 weeks before I begin finding fleas on the rest of his body, but suspect this is because the dose has a lot more territory to cover... Will be trying another solution as Frontline Gold is only partially effective...31 Dec 2024 Update: I asked my vet if I could step up to Revolution, and they recommended and prescribed the similar NexGard COMBO. Six (6) doses for $130 versus the FrontLine Gold at $90, but the extra $40 was well worth it, as after only two (2) days, not a single flea on any of the cats whereas up to that point in time, I was easily picking off a dozen each night on each cat...
