Q: Can these be used on the outside of a motorhome to mount a magnetic reversing camera?

They're certainly string enough...be careful if the motorhome sat in sun for a while the adhesive might melt...might be best sikaflex 212 bonding instead?

No they're not, just a thin piece of steel

I would say it would be ok, once fitted they don't peel off, i have remove one and bent the plate it's that tough.
